About this deal

Overall I think the negative feelings are based around how much excitement there was for this book. There were people hoping to buy Cursed City to get a start on the army, and people who never wanted to play Age of Sigmar now wanting to get in on it. There was a lot of attention on this book and I wager it was never going to meet expectations. For newcomers coming in, hoping to play some vampires and skeletons, I think you’ll still have a good time. On the topic of the new Warhammer Underworlds warband everyone bought to get themselves pumped for this army: if you’re taking this warband, you’re really taking it for Prince Duvalle’s Fiendish Lure spell, adding +1 to hit against a target enemy unit until your next hero phase. The real benefit of this is that, unlike the standard Vampire Lord’s spell, you cast it on the enemy, not one of your own units; the Lord’s spell is restricted to Summonable units, so Duvalle can buff some of the heavier vampiric hitters in your army. The downside here is the 6” casting range, which practically means you’re probably having him walk alongside Grave Guard while the Blood Knights are off ranging with their faster movement. Some bloodlines are altogether different, like the animalistic Vyrkos dynasty. Talking of which… Radukar the Beast

Wayland Games

Previously limited to Nagash, his Mortarchs and a select few vampire units, Deathly Invocation heals D3 wounds (or equivalent models) on Summonable units. Now it comes with every Hero unit, though it scales up in power. Key to your survival, keeping your weaker units alive. Locus of Shyish Don't they all have the vyrkos keyword? If so, they don't gain the legion of night keyword even when you field them in a legion of night army, and thus cannot ambush. At least, iirc that's how it works, am away from book at the moment. Overall, good changes. The old book’s spell list held up surprisingly well and keeping them intact was a good call. It’s helped further by Nagash knowing all 13 spells and given he can cast 8 spells a turn at full health, that is a lot of versatility. Bloodlines Vyrkos Barrow-blade: Radukar's personal sword, claimed when he slew the twin-headed wolf Vilnas. [3] [4a] With the GHB 2021 Radukar the Wolf is an extra hero, so you can replace him with the Beast. Then you take 20 skeletons instead of 30 and 2x 20 Zombies instead of Wolves and just summon the wolves to the table with the CA. rest as you had put it.

Reanimated Horrors

You can also build this incredible kit as a mighty Vengorian Lord, a new Leader option for the Soulblight Gravelords.

It’s awesome to see so many games set in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe. There are more ways to explore the setting than ever before. Watch this space for more news about Soul Arena as soon as we can share it. Some really good synergistic traits here including A Craving for Massacre which includes the old standby of letting a general Run and Charge in the same turn. Power in their Blood lets a General benefit from Might of the Crimson Keep pictures above if they were within 6″ of the enemy that killed a unit, or if you’re in for a once a game hammer, Rousing Commander lets you give every unit within 12″ of the General Bloodied Strength and Stolen Vitality for the phase. You could use this unit to extend the aura of Legion of Blood’s Immortal Majesty, making more models run when near a Vampire. Which is kinda odd, really, changing the dynasty and heritage of unique named characters, but rules as written they’re in any dynasty or legion you so choose. At 200 points though, I don’t think even the spell or dynastic flexibility makes the unit worth it. The 60 point ‘Warhammer Underworlds warband tax’ strikes again! Battleline Embodying the true nature of all Soulblight vampires, these transformed lords revel in self-loathing. Vengorian Lords are powerful warriors and wizards – fighting at the head of Soulblight Gravelords armies from every dynasty. Lady Annika, the Thirsting Blade and Kritza the Rat Prince are two melee hero’s who’ve also been added to the Roster of the Gravelords. While fantastic little models they’re really not much to write home about here. Kritza’s price point is really appealing but they’re what they are and don’t bring a lot more to the army past their combat abilities. Kritza especially might make it into some forces, just through the fact he’s a constant annoyance and won’t just leave the field.Radukar the Beast is explicitly introduced as a returned, shapeshifted form of the villainous vampire Radukar the Wolf, the Big Bad of Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. Despite nominally being killed by the players at the climax of Cursed City’s main quest, we now know Radukar survives, gets hench, and “bides his time prowling Shyish and plotting revenge”. A fan-favourite of the Vampire Counts, Mannfred von Carstein is Age of Sigmar’s take on the classic Transylvanian, Bram Stoker-esque vampire lord. The Mortarch of Night, he has the usual Soulblight penchant for scheming, conspiring, and conniving, but is the closest anyone will likely get to becoming the Undying King’s right-hand man. A brutal ruler and effective warlord, Mannfred is Nagash’s ace in the hole when it comes to territorial conquest. Naturally, we got no hints as to when (or in what configurations) any of these bloodthirsty beauties will actually be available. Some of them, at least, can be expected to drop with the Soulblight Gravelords Battletome, but, since we’ve no release schedule for that either, vamp fans will have to wait for now. Perhaps the rest of Warhammer Fest’s reveal schedule may provide.

We’ve got some amazing things to show you today. Settle in and get comfortable, and make sure you’re well hydrated. We don’t want you to do a spit-take all over your screen. Some welcome titbits of Kragnos’ tabletop rules reveal that he’ll add one to the Bravery of all friendly Destruction units within 12”, and his massive, ornate shield, Tuskbreaker, gives him a decent chance of ignoring the damage each and every time he’s hit by a spell or endless spell. No model statline, or rules for that gnarly-looking mace, just yet. GW knows how to leave folks wanting more, after all. Queen of the Avengorii dynasty, Lauka Vai represents all the best features of her vampiric followers: a monstrous physique so warped it grants her the unmatched strength of a beast. Originally a monster-hunting knight, a chance encounter with prime splicer Tzeentch left her a half undead-bat-drake-monster, perpetually torn between the primal instincts of her monstrous half and noble origins.

Radukar The Beast (Soulblight Gravelords) - Rogue Games

In the Age of Sigmar, the Soulblight Gravelords have again split into several dynasties. Foremost among them are the Vyrkos, Kastelai, and Avengorii clans, each with a distinct bloodline curse and magical proclivity. Submissive to a powerful patriarch or matriarch at their head, some follow the will of Nagash and attempt to prove their worth to his Mortarchs. Others pursue their bloodlust above all, ignoring the grander quarrels of their accursed kin. The upcoming battletome details several vampiric bloodlines, each with their own history and culture. The ancient beings that lead them are some of the strongest beings in all the Mortal Realms. Lauka Vai, the Mother of Nightmares Vampires and werewolves join forces in Belladamma Volga. The dreaded matriarch of the Vrykos Soulblight bloodline, old Mrs Volga is the only leader of a vampiric dynasty to not owe her cursed powers to Nagash. Instead, an ancient ‘godbeast’ is responsible for her bloodline’s distinctly lupine curse, which manifests in not only a wolfish appearance but an intimate connection to rabid animals.A new (if very old) face is Radukar’s great great (we don’t really know how many greats) grandmother (grandsire?), Belladamma Volga. Clad in luxurious, somewhat slav-esque garb, and furs, and riding a huge Dire Wolf side-saddle, she’s a deeply unnerving combination of apparent physical frailty, and huge implicit threat, sat on top of what has to be one of Age of Sigmar’s simplest, but finest, scenic character bases yet. A super-tall, visually incredible sculpt, this lady is going to be in high demand for Soulblight armies. In a welcome twist, the kit can also be constructed as a generic, non-named-character variant, the Vengorian Lord, which in itself looks pretty ace. It used to be a command ability, meaning in theory you could do it multiple times a turn. This was easier said than done, however.
