A couple of things happen that I thought were completely brilliant, but I'll go into more detail in the spoiler section below. As usual with Brent Weeks, the strengths of The Burning Whiteare the character work and the world. I didn’t think it possible, but the already detailed magic system became a whole lot deeper. We got answers to some very big questions regarding the magic in this final book, and there is no doubt in my mind that Chromaturgy is the most in-depth and interesting magic system that I have read in the genre.

Munds are largely ignored throughout the series, but in this book they help out a lot. After burning the Capitol, the British turned northwest up Pennsylvania Avenue toward the White House. One thing worth mentioning is the religious aspect of the world. For most of the series, the worship of Orholam is presented in a neutral or even negative light, with the Chromeria being presented as a highly corrupt lesser of two evils. The Vatican and the Chromeria do not represent God.
