About this deal

When a fire decides to blow its smoke in your direction, you stop being able to think, tears stream down your face, and your teeth clench in a grimace. You don’t know whether to move or wait it out. For the most part, YES it creates a smokeless fire. In the beginning, when the fire’s just getting started there is a little smoke. But as soon as it heats up you can’t even see it! It’s so awesome to have a smoke-free wood-burning fire pit because we all know how it feels when the smoke seems to follow you everywhere! Can you cook on the Solo Stove Bonfire? However, you might encounter a pesky burnt twig that’s hard to remove from the mesh. While this can be a bit annoying, overall, the cleanup process is simple and hassle-free. So in my Solo Stove Review, let me show you everything you need to know to figure out if the Solo Stove Bonfire (or other Solo Stove sizes) are worth it for your camp set up!

We fit six chairs around it and weren’t crammed, so I’d say for most families, this firepit is big enough for everyone to enjoy! And it puts out a lot of heat so you don’t have to cram intogether to feel it. We tested out the Solo Stove Bonfire in the wonderful Wyoming wilderness with the family! How do I prevent rain from getting in when I’m using it at camp? After years of use and testing for my Solo Stove review, I can safely say the Solo Stove fire pit doesn’t produce much smoke. You’ll enjoy a campfire without the associated coughing and eye-watering that comes with smokey fires. It’s also effortless to clean up after enjoying a fire because you’re only left with a bit of white ash at the bottom. What It Does Worst The body of the Campfire is double-walled which allows cooler air to be drawn up through the lower vent holes and then released out of the upper vent holes directly into the flame providing what Solo Stove calls a “secondary burn”. And what about the question we all want to know like…can the Solo Stove Campfire really work as a campfire? Some of that air goes to the center of the stove where it helps stoke the primary combustion area (where the solid fuel is burning).

Size and Weight: The Solo Stove Campfire weighs 2.2 lbs (35.2oz). It’s got a diameter of 7 inches and — with the cooking ring — is 9.25 inches tall.

Camping With Small Vehicles: Short on space? Can’t bring both a portable fire pit and a camp stove? The Campfire does both so you save space. The rest of the air gets pulled through the double-walled design and gets shot out towards the top.

There’s not much to prepare for setting up the Solo Stove Campfire. Actually, all you need is only flat terrain, free of any flammable materials. This was my first run-in with a Solo Stove Bonfire fire pit, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. As it turns out, Solo Stove fire pits are pretty expensive. Still, I decided it was time to spring for one. One small tip: a removable mesh could come in handy for those stubborn bits of debris that just won’t budge. But other than that, keeping your Solo Stove Campfire in top shape is a breeze. I have absolutely loved the Solo Stove Bonfire fire pit and how it lets us have a fire anywhere – especially since my kids aren’t constantly complaining that the “smoke won’t stop following them!”

The Solo Stove Campfire contains two parts: the main body and the detachable fire ring. The ring is made of the same material and is designed to be put on the top or inside the fire pit for compact storage. My husband, however, entered the experience dubiously. He is stubbornly frugal and likes doing things the old-fashioned way. The Campfire doesn’t have as many compatible accessories as the Lite and the Titan (like the alcohol burner or the windscreen). However, you can save some money and get this gear bundle with everything you need for camp cooking. The set we got came with the stand – this is the piece of metal that the firepit can be set down on to reduce damage to the ground underneath, and I’d say it’s something you should definitely buy with it if you plan on taking it camping. If you use the link I listed above for the Bonfire fire pit, it will include a stand and carrying case which are must-haves. The stand is what gets the Solo Stove off the ground to prevent damage, and the carrying case is a convenient way to carry it (it can be hard ’cause it’s so round!) Usually, that’s when I’d turn to lighter fluid, but using liquid fire starters in your Solo Stove can be dangerous. You may need to use fire starter logs to make it easier.
