About this deal

So, if you grow the odd houseplant and want to try something different, or even if you just want to grow more effectively, Not Another Jungle is a great place to start. Because I think a lot of people choose houseplants just based on what they like look off and try and make it work in that little corner. More from Tony Le-Britton shortly but now I'm going to talk a little about my book, Legends Of The Leaf. You’ll no doubt be familiar with the Royal Horticultural Society, the work they do and the gardens that they keep and this week I’m talking to their President, Keith Weed. Regular readers will know that I am not keen having electric wires trailing around the garden and that I am a big fan of solar lights etc.

There are those things that take me right back to being a child and rocking chairs are one of those things and I have always wanted one. And, he might just reveal his favourite RHS garden, although that is a little like choosing your favourite child!

And indeed, also interesting to note that if the traps are submerged during times of flood, which can happen this is a low lying coastal area that Venus flytraps grow in, the traps can still shut on underwater creatures when submerged. A lot of those leaves have little fishing wires on them, and there's me lying on the floor, pulling the leaves into the perfect position.

So throughout the book, it's really about bringing together science and helping people understand why we do these things, not just telling people to do something, but really getting an understanding for your plants. I hope that the publishers have the photos of me just lying on the floor showing the the absolute glamour that goes into the picture. But otherwise, all of that information will be going up very very soon because I know some of you love your deep dives into the topics covered in the book. Biography: Tony Le-Britton is a self-taught grower and prolific houseplant collector of some of the world's rarest plants.

For a brief example, it talks about things like guttation, the different ways to water, the science of light. Because as you know, in when you have a lot of plants, it can sometimes just become a bit of a burden or just becomes a lot, right? In person is best as it gives you a chance to check over your purchase and there’s a warning about online scams.
