About this deal

Verdict: If as a parent you've been putting in the hours playing Orchard Games in the hope to indoctrinate your children in the joy of gaming then this is the ideal next step. Pull puzzle pieces from the bag and work to put them together to recreate six separate jigsaws. We especially loved: As ever, the game board, cards and pieces were well-made of premium card and just felt of incredibly high quality. The artwork of London was sumptuously designed, with the added benefit that there are so many different routes around the city you can play the game over and over again in different ways. To play, you will also need some other objects including toilet roll tubes and water (if you’re brave!) before the game starts, although if you don’t have these to hand you can skip these challenges. Who can play the #UpsideDownChallenge? In the upside down challenge game, players take turns to wear the upside down goggles whilst taking their turn. And even simple tasks may seem impossible when the world is on its head! What’s In The Game Box?

A couple of minor quibbles are that it would benefit with a licence for Disney films - although it was nice to see Despicable Me pop up - and while the suggested age is 13 we were considering playing this tweens slightly younger until a random (and slightly wince-inducing) clip from Candyman popped up for one of the questions. The premise: Move over Syabira, there's a new star baker in town, courtesy of this fun and easy-to-learn card game. There is naturally an amusing element to the game as people look funny in the glasses and can fail the challenges pretty impressively. This means I wouldn't recommend it if you can't laugh at yourself. The instructions say you can’t wear normal glasses underneath the special glasses, and although I found I can just about wear mine, it’s not very comfortable, it further reduces your field of vision and there is a risk you could scratch your glasses. If you can't see short distances without your glasses this game isn't going to be for you.

Before buying The Upside Down Challenge Game

The game is said to be suitable for children from 7 years upwards, but we played with two 6 year olds who certainly had no problem understanding how to play. And we all found it hilarious! I particularly love the fact that there are different levels for different ages, meaning that everyone can play together and it is fair!

The winner is the first player to win 5 tokens! But once you get the special googles on and start trying the challenges, you will soon see that this sounds so much easier than it really is! What Do We Think Of The Game? The Super Challenges don’t appear to be part of the game but just as additional challenges. Maybe they could be utilised if you end up with a tie-breaker! Developmental Benefits of The #UpsideDown Challenge Game Non Stop Fun! - Get your family and friends together and create memories while playing fun, high quality and challenging games that everyone can enjoy. Perfect gift for birthdays or Christmas as it allows adults and kids to interact and bond over hours of laughter and stimulating activities. Games cater to all levels of knowledge and experience so everyone can have a turn and have a good time! In the box you receive one pair of adjustable Upside Down Goggles, 32 playing cards containing 120 cards, a timer and a pop-out token board. The aim of the game is to collect five tokens; then you’re the winner! (You can change the number of tokens to make the game shorter or longer).

The one niggle with the absolute littlies? If one of your opponents is looking more worthy of a Hollywood handshake you can sabotage their chances of glory with action cards. This caused a few tears with the smallest gamers at the table, but were soon eased with a piece of snowman shaped shortbread. An interesting challenge:A great game to play with Adults & Kids. You'll be amazed how difficult (and funny) even the simplest tasks become challenges, including writing your name, connecting dots, drawing pictures, pouring one cup of water into another, giving a high-five and MORE! Play the game outside for an even more challenging and hilarious experience! Full disclosure: I had actually seen this on the forthcoming Funko list and hinted to my husband that I’d love it for Christmas even before I got to play test it. Let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed and as a big fan of the heart-warming Apple TV show and long-time gamer, if I’d opened it on Christmas Day I would have been thrilled. I feel the game is made more complicated than it needs to be because the box is designed to be sold to 5 countries so everything is in German, English, French, Italian and Dutch. The biggest issue with this is that the action cards explanations are in a booklet where as if just in one language per box I’m sure they could have put them on the cards. The first few times you play you will need to refer to the booklet and the symbol explanation card every turn which is a bit of a faff.We especially loved: The fun theme and the cute artwork - and the baker's hat that came in the box that the winner could win while celebrating their victory. But to play you also need a few extra household items. These are: 3 cardboard rolls (such as loo roll inners), a pen with a lid, paper, some water, a teaspoon, 2 plastic beakers and a bowl.
