About this deal

Please note: Failure to produce the card and relevant ID means we are unable to release goods on collection. It’s as nigh-on perfect for app support as you’re going to find. All that’s missing is Sky Store, BT TV, Twitch, VLC and TuneIn, but these aren’t serious concerns. As far as major streaming services and catch-up platforms go, it’s a full house – and in 4K HDR wherever that’s possible.

The same effortless balance is applied in regards to detail and sharpness, too. Where some TVs, including previous Samsung models, can over-sharpen edges and details, giving everything an artificially etched look, the QN95A ensures that everything is crisp and clearly defined without any of that exaggeration. The detail is all there, but it isn’t rammed down your throat, and that’s the way it should be. Get the finest picture ever with Color Volume 100%, Quantum Dot, which transforms light into breathtaking, stay-true color at any brightness.

Samsung’s first Mini LED TV reaches our shores, offering an array of breathtaking HDR and next-gen gaming tech

Elevate your entertainment to jaw-dropping 4K clarity. The Neo Quantum Processor 4K utilizes advanced AI based deep-learning analysis to analyze the signal, source, and scene-by-scene content to deliver the best 4K optimized experiences. No matter what you watch, the 4K clarity is super-charged.

The Q95T’s motion handling is one of its more impressive abilities. On 2020 Samsung TVs including the Q95T, 24p content is finally processed correctly, even with all of the motion settings in the Picture Clarity menu turned off. Now, slow pans in 24p movies look smooth and blissfully free of telecine judder. It’s not all easy money for this TV, though. Boost this set to its contrasty best and you’ll occasionally notice that there’s a little dark detail that’s lost. There is also the odd moment where the TV’s brightness gets a touch out of control and details can sometimes be either overblown or underplayed. It’s possible to tone both of these down but to take them away would also hobble the QN94A’s very best characteristics.Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying a live scene and white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits) Of the four HDMI ports, three are HDMI 2.0 and one (HDMI 4) is HDMI 2.1 compliant, with a bandwidth of 40Gbps. That’s the one you’ll be wanting to plug your gaming console into for the latest HDMI 2.1 features such as Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and 4K at 120Hz. HDMI 3 does support eARC for lossless audio passthrough. The same trait is clear in the company logos and intro text at the start of Blade Runner 2049. It could be that Samsung is playing things just a little too safe here, but crucially, these ultra-high contrast images are relatively uncommon, and in isolation, the Samsung’s delivery rarely looks wrong. It’s only in a side-by-side comparison with one of the punchier 2020 OLEDs that this reticence becomes clear. This is where the difference between the QN94A and QN95A is most evident. The slimline One Connect external box supports HDMI 2.1 (ALLM, VRR, HFR) across all its HDMI inputs, so you can plug a Xbox Series X and a PS5 into any of the QN95A’s HDMI inputs. As Samsung continues to give Dolby Vision the widest of berths, Dolby Vision for Gaming isn’t coming to their TVs any time soon.

The first chapter’s police raid on the National Opera House in Kiev is a masterclass of HDR performance. This TV is so bright compared to OLEDs, with the Mini LED technology allowing for such careful pinpoint control of that luminance, that it’s hard to draw our eyes away from the action even for a second. Sound has always felt secondary for Samsung when it comes to its TVs, and that’s quite understandable. Samsung will point you towards its Q series range of soundbars and we’d certainly encourage you to seek out an external audio solution for your AV room too. You’ll benefit from a sense of scale that no TV speaker system can match. Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output However, OTS+ doesn’t just involve more channels, it also analyses the audio signaland aligns sounds with the location of specific images on the screen. This really works, producing an engaging experience with improved directionality and immersion. In addition, the dedicated centre speakers ensure clear dialogue, and the subs add some pleasing low-end presence.Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits) Having witnessed the HDR prowess of the Q90R, we had high hopes for the Q95T. And our testing left us suitably impressed. The Q95T’s panel hit a peak brightness of 1,700cd/m2 on a 10% window after calibration and 750cd/m2 across the full screen. These kinds of brightness levels are far out of reach for the Q95T’s OLED rivals, and allow it to give tremendous impact to bright HDR scenes. It’s also notably brighter than last year’s Q90R, which had a peak full-field luminance of 550cd/m2. The Q95T’s colour palette is about on par with the Q90R’s, covering 93% of the DCI-P3 gamut and 73% of Rec.2020.

We head straight for a modern day big hitter with Christopher Nolan’s Tenet on 4K Blu-ray, and all fears of the mind-twisting plot to come are replaced by the wow factor produced by the way this TV handles the action. See every detail at any angle. Ultra Viewing Angle gives you the consistent detailed picture, even when sitting off to the side. So every seat is the best one in the house. Performance is equally competitive when upscaling from 1080p. The sweeps over the Canary Islands in Fast & Furious 6 in HD on Blu-ray show off the Samsung’s strength of colour. The grasses, the sea, the reds and purples of the blooming flowers all make you want to retire to some far-away paradise. The Sony is probably a tiny bit richer at that red end of the spectrum and warmer on the yellows, but Samsung wins on the cooler shades.Under the TV’s skin is a new version of Samsung Quantum Processor, called the Neo Quantum Processor 4K. The big new feature here is referred to as Ultra Precision Light Driving, which involves more precise dimming and a local power distribution feature that sends power to the brightest areas of the picture and away from the darker parts. It also works in conjunction with a sensor integrated into the TV's frame to adjust brightness and contrast in response to ambient lighting conditions. There’s a new level of ‘deep learning’ applied to contrast enhancement, too. It’s not all perfect, mind you. Left on its default settings, the Q95T’s HDR picture is overbright compared with our reference standard. This can be dialled down by lowering the TV’s contrast value to around 40, after which the panel retains all specular highlight detail, even on HDR content mastered to 4,000cd/m2. And if you switch local dimming settings to ‘high’ (a new feature for 2020 QLEDs) the overbright effects of the Q95T’s dynamic tone mapping can be minimised. The QN95A also handles the increased colour gamut of HDR10 with aplomb, mainly thanks to the higher colour luminance of quantum dot. Films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 and Pan, with their deliberately over-saturated colour schemes, really pop off the screen in a vibrant display of primary and secondary colours.
