About this deal

I also wish we saw more vampire problems mixed in with their college life. For example there was more alcohol dinking than blood drinking. We also don’t see any college life besides the parties on the weekends.

There's little room given to ever flesh out side characters, but even more so when it comes to the few women we're introduced to. Unsurprisingly, most of which are written in a negative light with little good things to be said about them. It's literally only Kimberly that we hear good things about because she's not like other girls. That being said, the pacing in this could have used work and especially room to breathe between scenes. Kimberly has no friends with the low effort put into actually making any, which bleeds into the rest of the book and leads to no anticipation for future Aaron/Kimberly scenes. This is because there are rarely any scenes where the two of them aren't together and it leads to fatigue. This book needed a lot of critical attention. Editing would have been an excellent beginning point to smooth out the very rough dialogue and details like slang and choppy structure. Without it… this book… ya know. (My irritation rose per every ellipsis in this book and dear God, so many. It wasn't like Cokeley had anything super heavy to say, unsure why she went so hard on them).

I smiled, wiping a few tears. "No. You didn't. I'd do it all again. All of the good. The bad. To meet you." His proximity to mortals was considered a danger at this age. Tommy was a fledgling, so his senses and control were not as honed in as a full-fledge vampire. Being around this many humans was difficult for Tommy. He could sense all the bodies around him, the blood pumping under their skin and the life humming within. Tommy always had this tension when he could smell human blood. It made him want to pounce on the closest human, but he had to suppress that feeling. It was a violation of his morals and wouldn’t be very good for keeping his head down. No catch. You join me and I'll give you everything you could possibly want. In return, all you have to do is stay." He stood close now, close enough that Wilbur could see the way his eyes curled with sadness, close enough that he could see the man behind the monster. They stood like that for a moment, head to head, chest to chest, peering into each other's souls, then Phil was gone, swept away into the Misty shadows once again. The ties of blood are a symphony of hearts, playing a melody of love that resonates through generations.” I am HEAVILY invested in Aaron and Kimberly. There is SO MUCH more than just them. But truthfully I am here FOR THEM. I do like everything else about the story!! But I love them the most. They are SWEET. Aaron is trying to hard to make the right choices to keep Kimberly safe, but the connection is so strong and that makes it so much harder. The way they talk about each other makes my heart MELT. This book dives a little deeper into their relationship and I loved every single second of it.laying on the storage room cot, He had dreamed of crows and fangs and blood. And every night after. His days were spent reading, devouring every book that mentioned vampires at all, looking for any answers they could give, any hint into who that man truly was. Phil had been Power and predator and Man all rolled into one. Wilbur yearned for more. So he read and read and read.
