About this deal

They don’t weigh a ton either. The pair of speakers only weighs in at 7 lbs each. This is relatively light when compared to other bookshelf speakers of the same power and performance level. The Klipsch R41 PM is a two-way powered speaker of a type that has become increasingly popular in recent years. As the shape of our systems changes in response to different items being classed as source equipment, the powered speaker has enjoyed a rise to prominence. The simplified cousin of a true active speaker, the powered speaker is usually based on an existing passive model - as is the case here. Additionally, the compact size of the speaker makes it easy to fit into smaller spaces without sacrificing sound quality. Personally, I love the stripped-down design, which has always been a trademark of the Indiana-based brand. Build quality 4.5

My impressions of the Klipsch R-41M bookshelf speakers are overwhelmingly positive. They boast impressive specifications and a compact design that makes them perfect for small to medium-sized rooms, home theaters, and surround sound systems. I then swopped the AK120 and the optical cable it was attached to, moving it to the phono connections and upgrading the cable to a high quality example form Chord. Playing the same song, I was very happy to hear that the speakers could translate the sounds from the better cable. That is, the cable’s superiority was fully represented in the sonic output. Note that Klipsch also have the powered R-41PM and R-51PM which don’t require a separate amp, but these speakers cost more. R-41M and R-51M Measurements that you are about to see were performed using the Klippel Near-field Scanner (NFS). This is a robotic measurement system that analyzes the speaker all around and is able (using advanced mathematics and dual scan) to subtract room reflections. It also measures the speaker at close distance ("near-field") which sharply reduces the impact of room noise. Both of these factors enable testing in ordinary rooms yet results that can be more accurate than anechoic chamber. In a nutshell, the measurements show the actual sound coming out of the speaker independent of the room. All measurements are reference to tweeter axis with the grill removed.

Injection Molded Graphite (IMG) woofer cones are exceptionally light while being extremely rigid – providing a remarkable low-frequency response, with minimal cone breakup and distortion. When paired with the Tractrix Horn-loaded LTS tweeter, it provides speaker efficiency highest in its class. The R41M is a 200W speaker and weighs around 7 pounds. The dimensions of this speaker are 11.3-inch x 5.75-inch x 7.9-inch. It means this speaker is pretty much normal in size. The LTS aluminum tweeter that measures to be 1-inch in size pairs well with Tractrix Horn to ensure that you don’t have to handle much distortions or nuisances. The exclusive Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performances. Kapton® is an extremely light and rigid material used in the tweeter suspension to provide high efficiency and improve resolution and detail. LTS tweeters are a hallmark of Klipsch speakers, making it a core component of some of the best speakers in the world.

The minimal design will fit virtually any environment, with a textured wood vinyl finish and copper woofer that feel quite retro and timeless. These speakers are well-thought-out and well-made; they have a solid build and are outfitted with premium parts to guarantee years of pristine audio performance. Specification Specification

Conclusion

If you want a high-quality speaker system that won’t break the budget, the Klipsch R-41M Bookshelf Speakers are a great option. Compared tо other options in their price category, they stand out thanks to their sophisticated appearance, high-quality sound, and useful extras. The 1″ aluminium LTS horn-loaded tweeter does an outstanding job at reproducing higher frequencies with transparent clarity, and the 4″ IMG woofer handles lower frequencies well enough to create an immersive sound effect.

These speakers are a wonderful option for many consumers because they provide a perfect blend of performance and price. Nevertheless, other bookshelf speakers on the market offer more advanced capabilities or higher-end sound quality. On the other hand, the R51M comes with all the features, R41M has to offer but it also comes with a high-powered output of up to 340W. It means these speakers are pretty efficient in handling different sounds. I started by plugging my Red Wine-modded Astell&Kern AK120 into the rear of the speakers, via the optical port and listened to the 24bit/88kHz version of Dire Straits’ Money for Nothing.Klipsch has used medium density fiberboard for the construction of these speakers. It comes with a wooden vinyl finish to ensure the surface of the speakers remains resistant to any scratches.

Reinforced MDF construction reduces cabinet vibration for less audible coloration and improved sonic accuracy. Folks, I suffer with bad sound so you don't have to. Please avoid the Klipsch R-41M unless you just want a speaker as an ornament. That said, the R-41M seems to be more versatile and “forgiving” as a speaker, working well in rooms of various sizes, whereas the T15’s sound is best in mid-sized rooms but gets muddy in small and large environments. Again, Klipsch has used copper spun woofers in the construction of the woofer and these speakers also feature 1-inch LTS aluminum tweeters. Another well-regarded bookshelf speaker with superb sound quality is the ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2. The sound has more bass and heft since the woofer is bigger than the one in the Klipsch R-41M. The ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 is a better speaker than the Klipsch R-41M, but its size and weight may be an issue for some consumers.

Scores

These speakers are manufactured by Klipsch, a famous audio brand that has been in the business for over 7 decades. Klipsch is known for its loud and dynamic sound, which some audiophiles claim to be unrefined. The R-41M is no exception in the loud and dynamic sound department either.
