About this deal

Barefoot Through the Snow is a delicious, sad, classic ghost story fitting well into the Witch Museum mythology - the stories of innocent women tormented and put to death - as a mother seeks out her children across the cold, cold fields. It suggests some unfinished business that perhaps Rosie will be able to sort out one day? Didn't See That Coming: Scrooge believed that the Ghost of Christmas Past was teaching him a lesson about what Christmas is all about (since that's the Christmas spirits' job). He was surprised that the spirit was actually planning on trapping him in a time loop so that he would never leave him for his family again.

When traveling through time, Scrooge is hanging off of Past's foot (with the rest of the spirits then hanging off his foot). Tragic Dream: Dewey wanted to have his mom on Christmas, so he goes to the past to spend time with her. When she realizes he's a future relative, he tries to warn her about her fate, but denies him for it would disrupt the time stream. Dewey decides to cherish this one moment with his mom, but it means seeing his mom again would once again be out of his reach. When Scrooge tires of his past self's party and asks to be taken home to his family, the Ghost of Christmas Past lets out a Big "NO!" before composing himself and offering an alternative. Emo Teen: Dewey meets his uncle Donald when he was his age, going through a grunge phase. He wears dark, angsty clothing and plays tortured songs on an electric guitar. His guitar skills are decent enough but his voice alas is no good. Dewey's first words upon seeing Donald are to describe him as "some weird emo kid." Stealth Pun: Beakley, a secret agent, turns down the advances of the Ghost of Christmas Present, but aggressively pursues Christmas Future. Clearly, she flirts with death. Blame Game: When Scrooge furiously asks who put up the giant Santa animatronic, everyone points at Louie while Louie points at Huey. Big, Thin, Short Trio: Even the Beagle Boys of the past follow this pattern: Bankjob is the big one, Bugle is the thin one and Babyface is the short one.

Twelve Drummers Drumming- The final verse refers to the the doctrine of the Apostle's Creed and the twelve points included therein (belief in God the Father almighty, belief in Jesus Christ his only Son - our Lord, that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, that He suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was crucified, died and was buried, then he descended into hell, that he rose again the third day, that he ascended into heaven, that he is seated at the right hand of the Father, that he is to come to judge the living and the dead, belief in the Holy Ghost, belief in the holy catholic Church and the communion of saints, belief in the remission of sins, and belief in the resurrection of the flesh and life eternal.) This is a collection of strange, ghostly, chilling, odd and sometimes just slightly absurd stories. There are twelve of them, but there is no specifically Christmas theme. Syd Moore has turned her hand to a number of things, publishing, working for a Channel 4 arts programme, singer, go-go dancer, performance poet, children’s entertainer and working for an arts organisation. Moore is also the founder of an organisation called the Essex Girls Liberation Front, whose objective was to get the term “Essex Girl” removed from the Oxford English Dictionary. An objective that was achieved. This Lifetime Christmas 2015 movie has everything, perhaps too much of everything: an attractive cast, love, romance, nostalgia, mystery, beautiful winter settings and a splendid, Victorian haunted house "Hollygrove Inn". It's the former home of the Forsythes,(not the same as in the "Forsythe Saga"), who have died without heirs. Ambitious, single and thoroughly modern attorney Kate (Jen Lilley)is sent from Boston to Vermont 12 days before Christmas to broker the sale of the inconveniently haunted mansion. She's promised a promotion if she can deal with the ghosts and the real estate before the year's end. Problems start to mount as soon as Kate gets there. The appraiser leaves in panic, his job undone, after having encountered a ghost. Plus, the innkeeper Warren (excellent actor Robert Walsh)is closing the Inn for the holidays. But spunky Kate tells him she will stay in spite of Warren's objections. Kate stays, meets the resident hunky ghost, impressive Daniel Forsythe (Thomas Beaudoin), who died by an unknown killer on Christmas Eve 95 years ago, as he approached "Hollygrove". The supernatural walks into our story right then in the unusual form of Daniel The Ghost, who likes to eat pancakes, imbibe drinks, and of course, likes women like Kate, in more than a spiritual way. At first, Kate and Daniel quarrel, but soon she succumbs to his manly ghost charms. Whatever Louie feels he must (and claims he can) explain in his letter to Santa. Considering that Louie is a Schemer to the point where he's known as the evil triplet, it's likely more than just one incident and probably includes various incidents of questionable morality from prior episodes as well. Having never read Syd Moore or the Essex Witch Museum series of stories which she writes I wasn’t sure how I would fare with this book although the good news is that only one of them demands a familiarity with the characters of the series, even if two others do refer to individual pre-established characters. The disappointingly news is that I found the overall quality of the collection rather hit and miss with some impressing, others wryly amusing and several more leaving me non-plussed and rather bemused. On the whole though, this is a varied and solid collection with about half of the twelve stories making a significant favourable impression on me. He was the 1st of the 7 deacons in the “start up” Christian Church (Acts 7) who was stoned to death by the Jews, in 34 A.D. Tradition says that the Theotokos & St. John the Theologian witnessed the stoning. Scrooge has a minor one when he realizes just how desperate the ghost of Christmas Past became after Scrooge stranded him in the past.

Mouse Trap: Mrs. Beakley puts out some mouse traps with pieces of holly in them to catch Sugar Plum Fairies and Scrooge, of course, ends up stepping on one. The title cards for the end credits are done in the same style as the original short film's opening credits.

Tropes:

From December 25 to January 6,there became a 12-day period from the one major celebration to the next major observance. Thus, we have the “12 days of Christmas” that bridge the birth with the baptism and it became a festal period of time of great joy and celebration. As time progressed January 6 began to be called the “little Christmas.” Linked to the Essex Witch Museum series - of which I still have a couple to catch up with - this collection is a mix of the weird and wonderful, the dark and twisted and all set in a variety of locations and featuring a range of different characters! It's not full on horror and gore, but often the more subtle sides to the supernatural, which can often be the most unsettling! Thomas Beaudoin was excellent playing as the ghost, he really has the looks of a handsome gentlemen from 95 years ago. I say it was the make up and outfit that made him attractive! Predecessor Villain: Grandpa Beagle and his sons Bankjob, Bugle and Babyface are this to Ma Beagle and her sons Bigtime, Burger and Bouncer.

The story follows Kate, a lawyer who travels to Vermont to broker the sale of an inn and learns that the reason it won't sell is because it's haunted by a man who cannot move on until the mystery of his death (95 years ago) is solved. Hope Spot: When Della and Donald figure out that Dewey is from the future, Dewey is relieved to drop the act. He's about to warn them about the Spear of Selene and save his mother, but the twins shut him up and say he'll mess up the time stream. Dewey is forced to accept that logic.

Malachi, is the prophet who prophesied the coming and the mission of John the Baptist (Malachi 3:1). In fact there was no prophet between Malachi and John. Malachi also prophesied about the dread judgment, against ungrateful Israel and against the lawless Hebrew priests. Pals with Jesus: Scrooge is friends with the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and spends the holiday with them at the best Christmas parties in history.
