About this deal

On the surface, Anna Victoria Alcott seems to have finally achieved it all: a perfect marriage, great friends, and a successful acting career. Elsewhere, Dex's dead ex-wife Adeline appears to have been connected to the baby cult, and that's the reason why his family is being targeted. If any of this sounds vaguely familiar, Delicate Condition is the basis for the 12th season of American Horror Story, Part I of which is out now and stars Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts and Cara Delevingne. It turns out she's still pregnant after all, which adds a lot of confusion about why her doctors thought she wasn't. Yet, there is a condition— she must convey Sobhian’s past memories to her daughter to ensure her healthy upbringing; failure to do so will result in Sobhian’s demise.

Kim Kardashian's 'American Horror Story: Delicate' Debut Served Up the 'Campy Fun' the Series Needs". Toward the end of the book, the plot further takes a dramatic turn when Anna experiences labor, and as it intensifies, she is rushed to the hospital by her bodyguard, Kamal, who is also aware of Dex’s affair. Sometime later, Dex and Anna stay at Talia's house in the Hamptons, where Anna hears strange noises at night. But somehow, something deep inside of her thinks that she hasn’t lost the baby as it moves inside of her. Still, Danielle’s novel will keep readers up at night, desperate to see the conclusion of Anna’s pregnancy journey. While watching the Golden Globe Award ceremony, Anna learns she has lost to Babette and vomits tacks. Then, gradually as I was there for hours, it became less silly and it became more obvious something really traumatic was happening.

As for the American Horror Story adaptation coming soon, even Valentine is in the dark about the "secretive" season. Though there will likely be more changes, here are some of the things that go down in Danielle Valentine's novel. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy and Cookie Statement and Your California Privacy Rights. It angers me how the physical and mental health of a woman was always downplayed and still is at times. DELICATE CONDITION was literally a one-session read as I stayed up late absolutely determined to reach the end, because I knew I could not sleep without knowing!

The author spectacularly depicts the relationship women patients often have with their physicians, both male and female. Her feelings and emotions about her unborn child are always completely positive, completely motherly. Even after I had it, there was a lot of talks with my doctors about, 'Oh, well, you don't have to tell anybody,' like I should feel shame about the fact that I've been through this. It also has contemporary notes, as it really speaks to the lack of consideration women can experience in the medical field when it comes to infertility, pain management, and childbirth. For those of you who haven’t experienced pregnancy, try to keep in mind that this is fiction…we hope!

As Anna grapples with the complexities of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and navigates the challenges of her increasingly public life, a series of disturbing events unfolds. A moment later, Dex suggests she take the test, and Anna realizes that she has lost 2 weeks of time. I believe Danielle’s book will prompt women with any questions or worries about what is going on with their bodies to insist that their doctors LISTEN to them or find one that will. American Horror Story: Delicate is based on the book Delicate Condition, and it will likely feature many of the book's storylines. Publication information is for the USA, and (unless stated otherwise) represents the first print edition.
