About this deal

There is a lot to like about the Streamery Fabric Shaver, from its cute and compact shape that comfortably sits in the palm of your hand to the impressive motor and three precision-made blades that provide an incredible performance. At a glance, many of the items on this list look very similar, but that is not the case for this double-headed option from Liphier. The bigger surface area and powerful motor make this one for larger items like heavy curtains and rugs. If you're after something for older, more challenging fabrics that have seen much better days, then this powerful option is well worth considering. Alongside an impressive maximum speed of 9000 RPM, it also hasan additional slower setting.

This is another lint remover which would be a great option for someone who struggles with arthritis as it is ergonomically designed to be easy to grip and use. You can use a regular disposable razor instead of a fabric shaver to remove pilling from clothes. Simply lay your garment flat and carefully shave off the bobbles with the razor. Our old hat had very obvious pilling from over three years of use and perhaps less than ideal storage conditions. The first pass of the Philips fabric shaver took off at least 80% of the pilling and lint on the hat. After that first pass we had to take a closer look at the fabric to spot any remaining bobbles. After a subsequent pass with the Philips our hat looked almost good as new. Its 2-in-1 design features a fabric comb at one end that removes bobbles and a soft lint brush at the other end. With three different fabric comb sizes, you can adjust the device to be used on delicate fabric fibres as well as sturdier fabrics. It can be a tempting de-bobbling technique to try, especially if the bobbles show up on that shirt that you love so much but there is an easier and safer way.

Simply tipping the container over and shaking it will get the majority of the lint out, but there will usually be a little bit left at the bottom. To help with this, Philips included a small brush you can use to sweep out the leftover bobbles. However, this brush isn’t long enough to reach all the way to the bottom of the container. We were super impressed by it and haven't encountered any downsides. It's affordable, works on a variety of fabrics, is very portable and simply gets the job done. Some fabric shavers are more powerful than others. A heavy-duty fabric shaver is better for tough fabrics, whereas a less aggressive fabric shaver is better for delicate clothing. What should you look for in a fabric shaver? This lint remover is incredibly easy to use – it simply needs to be dragged across the surface of the clothing. Repair or replacements caused by faulty materials or workmanship as long as you include proof that the device is within the warranty period (such as a receipt).

The tool is supplied with a blade for bulky fabrics, one for medium fabrics, and one for delicate fabrics, and changing between them is easy. The tool even has a built-in lint brush for finishing up. Fed up with clothes full of bobbles, we set out to find the best clothes debobbler and discovered the Philips Fabric Shaver. The device is well-designed in general. Its size and shape is easy and comfortable to hold in the hand, reducing fatigue and strain if you’re shaving larger pieces of fabric like a blanket or sofa. It’s also easy to turn on and off. Merino wool: Another sturdier fabric, we next tested the lint remover on one of our favourite jumpers. We were pleased that it handled these natural fibres with ease.

A recommendation service that carefully researches each product and consults with experts across many disciplines. Easy to operate and clean: This shaver is battery-operated, so it's nearly ready to use right out of the box. With just one speed, you just turn on the electric fabric shaver and you're on your way. As for cleaning, you just turn off the motor, twist off the shaving head and use the included cleaning brush to clean lint out from around the rotating blade.

Are any of these “problems” real issues with the Philips GC026 fabric shaver? No, not really. Does it really matter to you if there’s a bit of lint left in the bottom of the bin or if you need to store it on its side when you put it away? Cotton: A 100% cotton sweatshirt with years of annoying bobble build-up was the first thing we worked with. In about five minutes, the sweatshirt's material looked as good as new. However, lower-quality fabric shavers can be a waste of time and money. Some fabric shavers will barely make a difference to your clothes, so it’s important to choose a good product that actually works. Do fabric shavers ruin clothes? This is a good all-rounder, suited to any household, with a similar shape to many other fabric shavers. This product has been designed with a very simple and neutral colour scheme, which may make it more appealing to men. It's battery-operated, has an easy-to-remove lint container and comes with a fabric guard for more delicate fabric fibres.
