About this deal

Even though this masterpiece like many other Creed fragrances was "damaged" by reformulation, I would still recommend buying this, even if it's a recent batch bottle ! ( for a european price of course, prices in the U.S are ridiculous).

Cool Water, Cool Water Intense, and Cool Water Parfum are massively popular in the fragrance community. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, the CW series will never disappoint you in the case of getting compliments. I don’t think you could ever wear this and overpower anyone, as it is not strong in the sense that it doesn’t shoot up your nose or have any sharp or chemical edges. I just feel it gives me and anyone close to me a gentle hug and a feeling of warmth. It's 8.15AM when I arrive at work, go to the mail room and find the box sat in my tray. I hurry outside eager to find out just what the hell I'd spent all this money on. I needn't have worried because, from that first spray I experienced a sort of moment of nirvana. I arrived at a place of understanding, a dawning realisation that even in the world of fragrance, there was a next level....and this was that next level. Every pound I'd spent blind was instantly justified and even rewarded with the sense that here was the best smell I had ever smelled! All in all, an incredible fragrance that is worth all the hype it gets, very versatile(Spring/Summer/Fall-can be), and masculine. The claim that these fragrances are hundreds of years old and that they were worn by princes and princesses: FALSE.

A classic fougere. I see why it is so popular. Fresh, sporty, classy, sophisticated, bright, refreshing. I discovered I actually never reviewed it despite sampling it - but now that I bought it with a good price (i.e. 150 Euro) I wanted to write something. What you are smelling and what’s responsible for the typical smell is mainly the aromachemical dihydromyrcenol and some others. Probably calone and iso e super. YES: ALL of these fragrances get their typical aroma mainly from synthetics. Smells nothing like the original Cool Water. It has more of a cool, minty, airy vanilla, similar to Versace Eros mostly, a possible a little like Le Male. It's more subtle and wearable than both, so if you want a less intense (despite the name), work-appropriate and possibly more refined version of Eros, this could be a good find. So, here is the comparison of Davidoff Cool Water, Cool Water intense, and Cool Water Parfum: OpeningMoreover, they didn’t use any controversial notes like leather, castoreum, e.tc. So easily, you can use Cool Water Intense for any purpose like office meetings, hangouts, e.t.c. So as we can see, Cool Water has the cheapest price tag on it’s body. And Cool Water Parfum has the highest. I was expecting more from my first spray, after shelling out over 150 euros. I felt a little disappointed to be honest with this very unexciting fragrance that underwhelmed me for the first few days. I have tested this on scan twice. The first time it lasted 8 to 10 hours. The second it lasted two. No way I’m trusting these batches. Ended up getting tres nuit. It’s so close for about the first three or four hours. It doesn’t stay as soft and smooth as a skin scent like green Irish tweed. Feels more like a classic, punchy fougere.

What I really think about Creed is most of their scents (not all of them) are very (very) similar. Someone calls it Trademark, and it's ok, but when it becomes the main ingredient the risk is it could turn to be a limit. It seems that the formulation is past its best. Creed always insist they don't reformulate and then give us some garb about variation due to natural ingredients. I don't believe it for a single moment. The truth for me is that those trying this for the first time today will never know or understand what this most definitely was but is not any longer. That is a tragedy because this was utterly sublime and would be worth every penny even at todays prices. The combination of sandalwood, violet leaf, and citrus note is very common and very successful in fougere masculine fragrances and repeated again and again in many fragrances. It's classic. A good signature scent. On the other hand, Cool Water Intense used green mandarin orange in the opening. The opening of CW intense is citrusy. The initial blast of citruses is fantastic, and it gives an instant freshness. And the price range is also low. And this fragrance is much versatile and you can use this wherever you want. The claim that it's a family perfumery, and that all the perfumes are composed by the Creed's: FALSE. Now 150 is the top price I'd buy it for - the 240 is ridiculous. Bear in mind everything I say from now on is about a 150e fragrance.

It definitely gives nature vibe as if i am in a deep forest and feel the coolness and the air is ladden with scents of some herbs and flowers or early in the morning on a beautiful sunny spring day you are going out for a walk or to your workplace and you get that freshness from the adjacent park. Cool Water Intense used three notes only, and the outcome is impressive. Cool Water intense is a simple fragrance with a touch of amber. There’s nothing to hate about this fragrance. It didn’t use any heavy notes. I will clear this up by drawing a music analogy, as the art of sound is often mirrored by the art of scent. Great aftershave, has changed my opinion [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To be honest, I always deemed Davidoff as a cheaper aftershave that my parents used BUT this has changed my perception. Davidoff Intense is fresh and modern aftershave, and an aftershave that I would be happy to use daily. I've never given Davidoff a chance due to a pre conceived impression but I was wrong, even my 12 year old preenager wants to borrow it. The bottle doesn't look anything special in my opinion and wouldn't inspire me to try it but I suppose never judge a book by it's cover. The “notes” (iris, verbena etc) are the same, but there is more clarity, depth, nuance, dynamics, and projection in the GIT. It is obviously a higher quality, and the notes resonate together in harmonic bliss. The CW version is unmoving and linear, while GIT will have you escape to another dimension; especially in the opening.I have a soft spot for davidoff cool water and I only bought this after hearing this is what cool water is based upon. At first, I was disappointed and I actually prefered cool water (i know.) First few seconds have an alcohol scent which doesn't exist in 2014 (as expected because of maturation and evaporation of top notes over time). Much more citrusy and fresh with a stronger violet leaf and lemon verbena note. The cool Water series is famous for it’s freshness. As all of these fragrances use rich notes, as a result, they all provide fantastic projection and longevity. The performance level of these fragrances is almost similar.
