About this deal

It's a synergistic process where forward-thinking design, cutting edge materials, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes come together to deliver powerful pump performance, reduced energy consumption and ultra-quiet operation.

On my 125-gallon tank where I’m housing my huge Oscars, I run a Fluval FX6 alongside a Penn Plax Cascade 1500 (linked to both in the bullet section above). Yes, the Fluval 207 is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Its multi-stage filtration system effectively handles the different water chemistry requirements of various aquatic environments.Despite these potential downsides or limitations, I still believe the Fluval 207 is a valuable addition to my aquarium. The more media a canister filter can hold – the better it is at preventing deadly ammonia spikes in the aquarium water. Though a sole unit like the FX6 won’t be enough for a 125-gallon aquarium with my setup, it still handles a great portion of the filtration for me. The Fluval 207, part of their renowned 07 series, promises enhanced performance, energy efficiency, and ease of use.

For an aquarium that’s 200+ gallons, you will maybe need a second unit to help the Eheim with circulation. Fluval’s FX6 being a sound choice for that. That’s because, in practice, any 150-gallon or larger tank would need a total flow rate of 1000+ GPH to stay clean. Use the basic filtration media included or customize filtration in the configuration that is just right for your system. What I enjoy the most about Fluval’s canister filters is that, aside from their consistent flow rate, they also come with a plethora of added bells and whistles and are really easy to maintain and operate. Redesigned, substantially enlarged rubber feet stabilizers offer superior vibration-dampening ability and added protection I can’t help but agree that for a tighter budget, the SunSun / Polar Aurora canister filters are absolutely killing the competition.Filter media and aquarium decor can significantly reduce your canister filter’s GPH flow rate. On average the real GPH of the filter would be around half the advertised one and that’s normal. The “5x rule” applies to the advertised flow rate and not the real one. eTEC (Efficient Technology) is at the heart of the 07 series. It’s a synergistic process where forward-thinking design, cutting edge materials, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes come together to deliver powerful pump performance, reduced energy consumption and ultra-quiet operation. The new design of pump and rubber feet stabilisers result in up to 25% quieter operation. 07 filters are big on power, yet small on energy consumption. The 107 and 207 models, for example, draw as little as 10 watts of electrical energy, which is equivalent to a single household LED lightbulb. The pros of a canister filter for such a small fish tank are that it will provide awesome filtration while being visually hidden and especially quiet. As the latest addition to Fluval's esteemed 07 series, the Fluval 207 builds upon the success of its predecessors.

A trusted leader in aquatics, Fluval is committed to staying at the market forefront by developing technically advanced and creative products that are easy to use, durable, and convenient.Initial cost: The Fluval 207 filter has a higher price tag compared to some other canister filters on the market. While I believe the quality and performance justify the cost, it may be a consideration for budget-conscious aquarists. Now, let's discuss build quality. The Fluval 207's construction is top-notch, with a sturdy, durable feel that instills confidence. The high-grade materials used suggest that this filter is built to withstand the test of time. This will rotate the water in your 90-gallon community tank about 4 times per hour, which should be enough if it only houses small schooling fish such as neon tetras and zebra danios. The filter pad trays of the Cascade 1500 are not the largest out there, but they will be more than enough for such a setup. One interesting thing is, The Polar Aurora / SunSun canister filters come with a built-in UV sterilizer. Fluval’s FX4 model is classified as a good canister filter for up to 250-gallon fish tanks, but this is not your concern.
