About this deal

How on earth do I review this book without spoilers? You just need to read this book… go in as blind as possible. If you have read The Kind Worth Killing (and seriously, who hasn’t, you will have some idea what to expect. Henry is now a private investigator, having left the police force after everything that happened in the first book. He has been asked to follow a cheating husband and his lover and provide proof for his wife Joan. However things are not quite what they seem as firstly Joan and Henry have history (well English actually) together as he was her high school teacher years ago and they were both involved in an awful event at school, secondly whilst following Joan’s cheating husband and lover he actually becomes the only witness to a murder/suicide. Lily is beautiful and seductive, and definitely the kind of woman who can be your best friend or your worst enemy and she caught Kimball’s attention years ago when he was investigating a crime. The Kind Worth Saving is great on its own but I recommend you read the first one before this just because it was phenomenal!!

PDF / EPUB File Name: The_Kind_Worth_Saving_-_Peter_Swanson.pdf, The_Kind_Worth_Saving_-_Peter_Swanson.epub Thank you to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was one I was very excited to be approved for and it did not disappoint.Henry Kimball is an interesting character, although I didn't immediately warm to him. As an ex-high school English teacher he was involved in a school shooting. As a policeman he was accused of stalking a suspect. Now, as a PI, he has come full circle he finds himself employed by an ex-pupil to investigate her husband, another ex-pupil. Peter Swanson’s highly anticipated sequel introduces new characters, but also continues with Henry Kimball and Lily Kintner’s story. It contains some recap, but will likely leave readers confused without knowledge of the previous book.

What else you may be wondering: Do you have to read The Kind Worth Killing before reading The Kind Worth Saving? I AM SO HAPPY. my fave thriller (THE KIND WORTH KILLING) got a sequel and it answered all my questions from the cliffhanger ending and it was a hell of a ride 👀🖤🫢🔪📖🙌🏼 Henry isn’t the only one with feelings of deja vu at this point, because as things progress there are several elements here that feel a little like reworked sections of The Kind Worth Killing. As a result, some of the plot progressions seems rather familiar – although after eight years, the details may feel a bit hazy. The Kind Worth Saving follows Henry Kimball, who is now a private investigator after the events of The Kind Worth Killing. He’s hired by a woman who thinks her husband is cheating on her and wants evidence, which, at least based on TV shows and books, seems like the number one job of PIs.alright lets start with how everything goes perfect for the serial killer duo. Drown the cousin, convince anther student to shoot the ex-friend, set up a murder/suicide looking crime seen. Everything goes off without a hitch... you know what that is? boring. I was one of the few people who didn’t understand the cult following of Peter Swanson’s first book in the series. While I enjoyed some of the twists, it was a three star read for me. After reading the second book in the series, I have realized that the reason I struggled to enjoy it was because the plot glorifies murder and killing. Regardless of the fact that it is fiction, I just can’t get behind that. Additionally, one of the major plot points in this book is a school shooting. This is a hard NO for me. One thing that stood out for me as particularly talented was the perfect reminders of relevant book 1 content - done as needed when needed, without boring the reader restating too much detail. Although not fully realistic, the storyline had me hooked and engrossed throughout. I was rooting for the manipulative, selfish characters and had a lot of fun following along their paths.

If you read The Kind Worth Killing, which I have deemed The Best Book by Peter Swanson, you’ll want to read the sequel. What did I think? Here’s my review of The Kind Worth Saving. If you follow my blog you will know that I read The Kind Worth Killing years ago and once I heard a sequel had been written, I had to re-read the book again – see my review here Why did Joan google Richards name randomly even though they spent years never interacting and that being how she learned about the bombing....instead of hearing about it on the news or from a neighbour??? because you know it's a bombing in her local area. people are going to talk about that. I did a reread before starting this one, and was glad for the refresher of the little details that I had forgotten. Is it possible that Joan knows something about that day, something she’s hidden all these years? Could there still be a killer out there, someone who believes they have gotten away with murder? Henry is determined to find out, but as he steps closer to the truth, a murderer is getting closer to him, and in this hair-raising game of cat and mouse only one of them will survive. And as expected, I loved it. I loved it so much that I had to write a review as soon as I closed the book—so well-written and there's my favourite, Lily. Need I say more? This being said, I would have enjoyed "Kind #2" much more had it been released closer to the publication date of "Kind #1". It wouldn’t be a Peter Swanson novel if he doesn’t kill off some really fascinating and important characters mid-way through the story whilst literally turns the narrative upside down and leaves the reader reeling. Although "Kind #2" was fast-paced, well-plotted, entertaining, and compulsively readable, it was not in the same league as "Kind #1".
