A citrus heat is the dominant flavor, with Cheetos cheddar flavor taking a barely-there backseat, and to great effect! Similar to the Lay’s Flamin’ Hot, these chips kind of taste like their original form, Nacho Cheese Doritos, but perhaps a bit dustier and redder. This one hit me the hardest, I love Lays, it’s my go-to potato chip brand, so I fully expected Flamin’ Hot Lays to deliver. These are the chips for people who don’t want to annihilate their taste buds, but do want to pucker up.

They’re really neck-and-neck with Takis, but what’s nice about these is that they’re not quite as punishingly salty, which gives the zing of the lime and the sting of the chili better chances to showcase themselves. The fast-food giant has been around since the 80s when it first introduced a low-calorie, low-fat Snackwell. Always at the pub and skipping out on his tab, getting home late and perennially unemployed, and with the ever-present cigarette sticking out of his mouth. They’re my favorite chip within the Flamin’ Hot canon because I always crave more spice—and these do the trick while providing that classic crunch of a regular cheeto. Think regular Doritos, but with a kick as strong as a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto — they capture the perfect mix of cheesy and spicy.

The bag claims to be twice as hot; the main difference I note is that the heat tastes more direct whereas with a regular bag of Hot Cheetos, the heat slowly builds over time.

If you're a fan of cheddar and sour cream, and want the faintest pin prick of heat, this is a good option. Still, it’s a shame to have your face on what is easily the worst Flamin’ Hot product currently on the market.While it’s lacking in the heat department, it’s in every way an improvement over Cheetos standard flavor. Some eaters noted that it doesn’t taste that much spicier than the regular Hot Cheetos, which I agree with to some extent. The flavors are almost the same—bright, sour, salty, spicy—but the Flamin’ Hot Limon Doritos certainly taste the slightest bit cheesier and have the appealing snap of a typical tortilla chip.

The way the chili pepper powder embeds itself into the folds of the tortilla is snack food perfection, ensuring that every bite brings the fire with notes of zesty lime that dance on the palate. Next time you’re in the mood for a tasty treat that’s out of the ordinary, try FUNYUNS Flamin’ Hot Onion Flavored Rings. It’s like watching actors in a movie — if you’re thinking about the acting, they’re not good actors. Puffcorn, which, save for its uneven, round-ish shape, is not at all like popcorn, texturewise falls somewhere between a Cheeto puff and a marshmallow. Therefore, since Funyuns have more than one ingredient and they include sugar that has been determined halal, it seems that Funyuns are halal.

These dusted tortilla triangles actually gave me a chili-induced coughing fit, and yet I couldn't stop reaching for more. This tastes and looks almost identical to the original so I’m not exactly sure where the extra kick of spice is coming from, but it’s definitely here.
