About this deal

There aren’t too many other details but I suppose that was necessary to prevent the limited space from becoming overcrowded. As such, there is a fair bit of space to pose minifigures and act out scenes from the show. This Star Wars Mandalorian building toy makes an attention-grabbing display piece and a wonderful LEGO birthday gift or holiday present

I'm not too bothered about the inaccuracies compared to Arquitens. I'm sure this is simply a problem with the designers reference material, as even in universe the distinction between Arquitens and Gideon's ship is a little unclear. Further, it is the subtle extra lift in that shoulder pad piece, combined with the placement of the eyes on the helmet slightly higher than that of a regular minifigure’s eyeline (put the helmet on any other head, and their eyes won’t reach the holes) that gives the Dark Trooper minifigure extra menace in its appearance, and some extra height where otherwise the LEGO Star Wars design team don’t like to offer it. It is still excellent though, with a brand new helmet mould that fits over a minifigure head, and simply looks gorgeous. It has a printed shoulder armour piece and some nice torso and leg printing. Bag 2 builds up the Technic walls for the sides of the front section. This area is reminiscent of LEGO’s play scale Star Destroyers, which is cool to see the shared heritage between similar LEGO Imperial ships. The front end of the cruiser opens up in much the same way many previous LEGO Star Destroyers have – this time in one large folding panel – to house a minifigure-scale interpretation of the ship’s bridge. It’s relatively sparse, with only four control panels, a couple of storage boxes and a central desk to populate the location, but that’s pretty similar to how it appeared in The Mandalorian, with plenty of space left over for the many characters that came together in the Season 2 finale.Imperial Light Cruiser is basically ripped off the screen, featuring Moff Gideon’s command ship and a star-studded cast of minifigures. Let’s take a closer look! The engine pods are large cylinders built using round panel pieces. 4×4 trans light blue radar dishes are used for the thruster glow, while there are some small greebling details around. Imperial Light Cruiser is probably most remarkable for the structural engineering that allows for such fluidity between the exterior of the model and what is, quite literally, a hollowed-out front-end to it. To achieve that without compromises elsewhere is worthy of particular note and appreciation. And, with the cover open, there’s enough space to recreate iconic scenes from the Mandalorian season finale! Overall I give the Light Cruiser 3.5/5 Arbitrary praise units. The build experience was great, as is the minifigure selection. I also really enjoyed the microscale TIE Fighters. While there are some innacuracies with the actual craft, I probably feel most challenged by the final price, especially in Australia, where it seems that perhaps the pricing is now geared to big box retailers offering 10-20% on an almost weekly basis.

There are some relatively new elements here, including the 3×3 curved quarter circle arch, whichmakes fro the front portion of the engines. The two outer engines are made using curved 8×4 simicircular panels. Panels are sloped over the rear of the ship, including the central engine. Transparent light blue radar dishes are attached to simulate the main engine jets. There is a little deviation from the source material here: there are 4 smaller engines between each of the main thrusters on screen. Not even including a hint of them feels a little thoughtless, but, on the other hand, gives you the opportunity to improve on the model with your own modifications. Bag 7 Dune's torso and legs display extensive detail too. The metallic silver mail covering her chest appears excellent, complemented by dark blue armour which continues across the legs. Cara Dune carries an enormous heavy blaster onscreen and I think this accessory could have been improved, although Din Djarin's beskar spear and Amban sniper rifle are splendid. Trouble on Tatooine introduced an updated Din Djarin minifigure, wearing his valuable beskar armour. The metallic silver panels covering the torso, legs and arms look excellent and stand out beautifully against the dark brown attire underneath. In addition, the various pouches and straps provide welcome detail, demonstrating fidelity to the onscreen character. We start by building a central core for the lid. This bag also builds the starboard panel for the lid. Strangely, this mechanism may only be activated from inside the vessel which seems illogical. The button should definitely have been located on the exterior, perhaps underneath where the appearance is less important. Alternatively, the feature could have been abandoned altogether because it works poorly, launching the TIE Fighters an extremely short distance.i just do not want any information about sw sets anymore. i hope there is or will be a function for those whom have no interesst in such" While their shaping appears impressive, viewing these engines from behind reveals another significant issue. While the three primary nacelles are present, four auxiliary thrusters should appear between them. Instead, the vessel has seemingly taken inspiration from the Arquitens-class Cruiser which includes three engines. Inaccuracies which enhance play are reasonable, but instances like this one remain disappointing. The side view of the ship is great, and the length is certainly a standout feature: The ship measures around 58cm (22.5″) long, which is a couple inches longer than the 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer set, and certainly looks impressive on display.
