About this deal

However, not a single Chainsaw Man instalment featured on the top-15 best-selling volumes of 2021; being dominated instead by Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece and Demon Slayer. Pretty much the only 'personality' trait of the main character is that he's desperate to touch some boobs Denji is a demon hunter with a pet demon of his own, a chainsaw demon. When Denji is brutally killed by demons his pet chainsaw dog makes a pact with him to save him. Now Denji is half human half demon and now a super demon hunter, the chainsaw man. Denji's a poor young man who'll do anything for money, even hunting down Devils with his pet devil-dog Pochita. He's a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down when he's betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a Devil inside him, Denji's become a whole new man-Chainsaw Man! Personally, a story with such over-sexualised utilisation of female characters and male ones who perpetuate these ideas of women in fiction, especially in graphic novels and with young adults, is not something I'm comfortable with reading. For me, there is no interest in a wishy-washy main character who keeps nearly getting himself killed because he can't stop thinking about boobs and, more importantly, touching them. But if that's your thing, go for it. There are plenty of volumes at this point to invest in.

Okay, so this wasn't exactly my favorite start to a new manga series, but I'm interested in seeing where Fujimoto takes the story and our main character Denji. Chainsaw Man appears to place in our world where humans and demons/devils somewhat coexist. Denji is swimming in debt and kills devils with his devil pet dog Pochita to help bring in some sort of income. Unfortunately, after the Yukuza takes their share, Denji isn't usually left with much. During an unfortunate set up, Denji is forced to join "spirits" with Pochita and becomes Chainsaw Man. Once discovered, he works with Makima and a government based organization to help keep control of all of the demons/devils. As a side note, representing one of two female characters as a terrible person who is willing to use her power (in Denji's case, of seduction) over a male character and threatening to kill him if he doesn't comply isn't cool. Female characters don't have to be perfect or damsels, but at least have a decent rep of other female characters before you choose to do this with one of the only female characters you have. To wrap things up and not gush too much, admittedly there are times where dialogue can be clunky and the plot a little hurried, but these are so few and overshadowed by moments of brilliance that personally I wasn’t overly bothered. Keep in mind this is a young author and this is one of their early works (it’s going to be exciting to follow their career!). At its most essential, Chainsaw Man has a huge heart. You may have to saw your way through some fat to get to it, but hey, the fat’s where all the flavor is, right? A several-chapter arc dedicated to the main character trying to convince a female character to let him touch her boobsIt's the same old story. Boy finds a devil dog with a chainsaw for a nose, devil dog is assimilated into the boy's body, boy now has a chainsaw ripcord coming out of his chest, boy now can turn into chainsaw man by pulling the ripcord, boy then has a chainsaw coming out of his face and a chainsaw coming out of each arm, boy meets girl from the secret service, secret service girl forces boy to use his chainsaw powers to fight the many devils and demons that run amok in the world, boy is obsessed with boobs, boy is even more obsessed with secret service girl's boobs. We've all heard it a million times before. Regardless, this is too fun to pass out on (although knowledge of its sudden end is saddening). Onto the next volume! This is an interesting concept - a young man, who has never gone to school or even tasted jam on bread, owes a great debt to many people due to his deceased father's dubious matters. In this world, demons run rampant in Japan and the rest of the world. As young Denji and his pet demon become one being, he becomes the Chainsaw Man - half man, half demon. As revealed during a Stage Presentation at the 2021 Jump Festa event in Japan, the manga will now focus on Denji attending school and trying to balance his new life with his responsibility as the Chainsaw Man. Tatsuki Fujimoto also writes some of my favorite female characters in modern shonen manga. He’s very good at an “I can fix her”: from nasty freaks, to sad losers with snot constantly running down their face, to Most Evil Person Alive, to lesbian hitman with demon harem. The introduction to the protagonist of the second major arc is a total masterclass in establishing a character. How could anyone NOT like these weirdos?

The manga officially ‘ended’ its first part in late-2020, but thankfully the release date for Part 2 of the Chainsaw Man manga series has just been confirmed on social media. Alongside the early news of the manga’s resumption in Summer, the first PV trailer for the Chainsaw Man anime series was released at the MAPPA 10th Anniversary event in June 2021. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man-Chainsaw Man! The cover depicts Denji transformed into Chainsaw Man cutting through and standing upon a group of Zombie Devil's minions while vast amounts of green blood spray into the air around him.Dear reader, it is completely nuts! Yes, there's the tired trope of the boy obsessing over a girl, but it has some fun with it - the girl basically has no interest in him, and has all the power.

So at the start we have Denji who is trying to survive. He'll do pretty much anything for some money. He also has his trusty dog Pochita, who has a actual chainsaw coming out of his freaking head. So together they kill devils and make money. But one day something horrible happens to Denji and Pochita must do something to save him. Tus Chainsaw Man is born! On December 14 th 2020, following the release of chapter 97, it was officially confirmed that the Chainsaw Man manga would be taking an extended hiatus but with the promise that one day, it would eventually return for a second part. And with that, this insane manga keeps going. I'll be honest first chapter or two I enjoyed but didn't love. However, when they began to bring in a great supporting cast and insane battles the manga kept getting better and better. The humor also kept increasing, but in the right way, and I began laughing at a few parts every chapter. Questionable motivations aside, he has a heart of gold, is more intelligent than he gives himself credit (as so many kids are), and grows a LOT over the course of the series, which is of course part of the joy of reading it. I’d imagine it’s something like the feeling a teacher gets as they watch a student grow and mature.Take your basic monster hunter premise and insert a very dim protagonist who can magically protrude chainsaws from his arms and face and whose major dreams are pretty simple: food, shelter, and oh yeah, "I wanna touch some boobs . . . " One minute they are there and next, they are gone. It's pretty much worse as the GOT last episode with killing potential characters who needed more screen time..... The plot itself basic. Not every story is supposed to be intricate with a dozen branching subplots and characters to go with, but this feels very formulaic, as in, like every shonen manga ever, though more horny. And the writing feels immature, unedited, and not cohesive at all in some places. It's like if Mineta was the protagonist of My Hero Academia.

It is a very good introduction volume, I can't believe we had the PV for the anime a few days ago, It looks so cool! Tatsuki Fujimoto 藤本タツキ (Fujimoto Tatsuki) is a Japanese manga author, mostly known for Chainsaw Man.The news was first shared by the manga series editor Shihei Lin on social media, confirming that serialisation will resume in Jump Plus from July 13th. Then, at the 2022 Jump Festa event, it was confirmed that Part 2 of the Chainsaw Man manga series would release in Summer 2022, but a specific launch window was not revealed – leading to significant frustration amongst the global community. And of course there’s action, but if that’s what you came here for then you probably didn’t need to read this review because you already know how good it is. The story itself is so captivating, It really gets me in my feelings everytime, I really love Denji and Pochita so much!!
