About this deal

Offering a world class service to our customers, we are a highly focused team who can be trusted to support you Reading the manual and using the device, I was pleased to see that the outputs are selectable. You can have XLR out, RCA out, or both. So you can now feed powered speakers from one output and RCA to another and select which one comes on. Note however that there are no discrete controls in the remote and you have to cycle through them. Would be interesting why to choose this over a L30. Integrated power supply? Look and feel? Balanced connections? Its honesty and its transparent nature fully preserves the voicing of your digital or analog front end. When it was connected to the HydraVox, suddenly music started flowing like a river bringing natural textures, highlighting inner-details and less so sharp overtones. When Matrix Element X came to play, music became extra crispy, but clean and defined and when Gustard X26 PRO appeared on my desk, the sensation of power overwhelmed my body, it punched and slammed the hardest out of them all. Its honesty can work as a double-edged sword too, for example it made wonders with warm sounding headphones like LCD-4 or Wodan, but it could be a little too much with headphones like Hifiman HE1000SE or Susvara. I like some warmth added into the mix with such headphones and A30 PRO isn’t about being warm, bright, or smooth. Topping now has a full line up of headphone amplifiers, DAC’s and linear power supplies. Running from quite affordable to prices, which might make a two-channel audiophile go “hmmmm...” the gear comes with various features and power. The TOPPING A30 Pro outputs 6,000 milliwatts per channel at 16Ω, 5,500 milliwatts per channel at 32Ω, and 840mw per channel at 300Ω. It can easily power hard-to-drive full-size headphones like the Sennheiser HD 660 S and the Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro.

Topping A30 Pro NFCA Headphone Amplifier OPA1656 4PIN XLR 4

Just when we thought we had reached a plateau with performance of headphone amps, Topping pushes a bit more in the form of lower noise and much more power in unbalanced mode. A solid and nice looking enclosure completes the picture for one of the most ideal headphone amplifiers I have laid may hands on. The medium sized enclosure with built-in power supply is definitely worth the extra cost to get rid of the dongle of the lower end products in view. I used a variety of headphones to test the Topping A30: the RHA T20i, the Sony MDR-1000X, the Meze 11 Neo, the Meze 99 Classics, the Superlux HD330, the VE Monk Plus and the HiFiMAN RE-00. I used the Topping D30 as the source and files in FLAC and MP3 (320 kbps) formats. Listening to this pair, there is an obvious improvement in layer separation within the soundstage. Even with naturally more intimate headphones such as the HD600, or the LCD-X. There is a touch more layering and a more natural sense of space between instruments. The treble presentation is also very well controlled with this pair. Even higher-pitched piano notes have a natural timbral presentation while remaining generally crisp and impactful. Thank you for review, you describe a lot about the amp, but not much about the dac? Could you share some comparisons to other DACs.

SMSL HO200 Technical Specifications

The new specifically redesigned NFCA based circuit is optimised for terrific single ended performance. Huge output power and margin bring excellent control ability, and there are no more headphones hard to drive. MSB ADD-1 (ADC with AES out into Okto) for various analog sources and Technics SL-D2 for vinyl via Schiit Mani 2 With the slightly drier quality of the D30 Pro, the A30 Pro gives the midrange that touch of richness to make vocals a bit more euphonic. Treble is also controlled, and the slight roll-off on the D30 Pro is compensated by the airiness of the A30 Pro. While you won’t find a lot of warmth, smoothness, a higher saturation and lots of natural overtones with NFCA amplifiers, but they still sound by a narrow margin more natural to THX-AAA counterparts, so expect deeper and believable voices, that would carry some weight and have the right pitch. With few headphones, midrange might appear as too neutral to the point of being a little clinical, but that happened with a single headphone (HE1000SE) and only on drier and harsher records. There was grunt in male voices and refinement with female voices, string-based instruments had a longer vibration and I could almost feel their bodies. This is good midrange performance that is linear, without becoming boring or emotionless.

While having higher power output numbers, the XA-10 implements this using Class A topology, so the XA-10 will definitely be running hotter compared to the HO200. Compared to the ruler flat frequency response of the HO200, there is a more energetic midbass hump on the A30 Pro. This gives drum hits more weight and body, while bass guitars have a more flowy presentation overall. Drum hits are more immediate on the A30 Pro while having a more rounded and smoother overall presentation. Now some are going to ask "how does it sound", well it sounds like nothing. I can't hear any "modification" to any of my music. With 3 step gain settings, A30 Pro can which can easily adapt to the huge sensitivity span from IEMs to high impedance and full size over-ears. A30Pro is designed with ample quiescent current. When the headphone impedance is greater than 250 ohms, it will fully work in Class A operation. 2x6W@ 16ohm, 2x5.5W@32ohm, 2x840mW@300ohm, so there is no headphone that A30Pro can't drive well. Furthermore, in the case of an RCA use with several devices, a GND/LIFT switch allows to cancel the noise that can be generated by ground loops. The LIFT position allows you to use the ground of the connected equipment instead of the A30 Pro.Its sound is neutral, detailed and clean and, on top of that, the A30 is very convenient to use. It has its flaws, too, such as the high output impedance, but they look minor in comparison to the pros. The real difference here and what makes the topping a much better option in my eyes is that it has a high-power side and a low-power side and a high-power mode and the low-power mode. It also has three different game options so it is actually a perfect amp to use with sensitive headphones and iems. Most everything else has far too much power as you will surely not need 1.5 watts per Channel unless you have some sort of very crazy high demand planar magnetic headphones. Most headphones these days are actually made to work with cell phones and other portable music devices so most things have a power requirement of 100 mw or less. Even the Oppo pm-3 has a power requirement of 250 Mw.
