About this deal

TPA6120 (Texas Intruments) khuyếch đại tín hiệu đầu ra riêng cho Headphone với sự trung thực cao, băng thông lớn, giảm tiếng ồn và cung cấp dải tần lên đến 120dB. Layering is good and the sound-stage is respectably wide, but the upfront presentation doesn’t convey much depth. What has really revealed how important these a DAC/Amp is in an audio setup is my recent acquisition of the HifiMan HE-4xx planar magnetic earphones.

So completely consistent with the data I have although it is possible to have a DAC that has much higher noise floor. As is common for me these days with the latest "Creators" version of Windows 10, I test these DACs by simply plugging them in and NOT installing any drivers. They’re slightly harder to drive than many of my other IEMs and the X6 seems to really bring out the life in them, particularly with acoustic guitars, high hats and an improved soundstage but let’s not forget the extra extension on the bass too.The noise floor though once adjusted for the way the measurements are done, will land at 90 db or so and hence, is higher than CD playback dynamic range. Yeah; this is a mains powered amp (rather than usb, or battery), that's one of the factors why I chose it. Like a typical computer set up, I have a pair of active/powered speakers that previously connected to the pc via a 3.

In most cases with dacs and amps or dac/amp combo is that there are pre-outs to the active speakers or powered amps. That said, Bluetooth is a convenience over fidelity affair and given a chance I’d always choose a wired connection for its higher sound quality. So no, the X6 MK2 imo is very good value for money and with a small upgrade to the op amp, a bargain. But its (very) obvious deficiency, in the lower registers, meant that I was going to have to reach deeper into my pocket.

Enough ambient sound that better performance would be irrelevant, and cheap enough that I don't think twice about leaving it there unattended. It has always sounded great, but I just feel like the X6 is able to bring out more clarity in this beautiful recording. And its headphone output which never gets distorted regardless of its dial position, is able to drive difficult headphones like the Sennheiser HD650. It’s an old chip but it blows ESS sabre dacs and AKM Velvet sound/shit DAC’s completely away though the measurements of it are slightly worse. As pure DAC it is good, its linear out has linear freq response (when u feed it 96Khz resampled, 44 and 48 are rolled off). So, quiet with the Ultrasones, and bass like a 'real' amp; if it doesn't go the same way as my laptop, when I start using the LCD2, then the dac-x6 is a bargain!
