About this deal

The interesting part of the story is that Shoya keeps envisioning “X” marks over people’s faces. As he slowly redeems himself, the marks slowly disappear. The inclusion of disability and its perception by society is an important theme of the movie. However, many people think that the sequel’s prospects of being revived are slim, while the remainder believe that the sequel has a good possibility of returning to our screens in 2023.

To date, there has been no news about whether a sequel to A Silent Voice will be made. Practically, it may not be possible to make one unless new storylines are created, given that the seven volumes of the manga have been exhausted to create the first movie. A low-pitched voice spoke, ending on a high lilt. According to current information, the sequel to A Silent Voice may never be made. The manga creator, Yoshitoki Ima, only published seven volumes of his original manga. All of the material has been reworked by the filmmakers. There is currently no way to find out what happens next in the story. Within the first week of release, the firsttankōbon volume sold 31,714 copies, placing it at number 19 on the Oricon manga chart. In 2008, “A Silent Voice” received the award for “Best Rookie Manga” from Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology. Ressler, Karen (July 1, 2017). An interesting scene happens when a girl confesses her love to Ishida and he is unable to comprehend what is happening. Some people might say he is too dense to misunderstand what she is clearly doing, but what I see is Ishida hates himself so much he doesn't believe anyone can love him. The concept of a person actually liking him is so alien it doesn't even comes as a possibility in his head. At twelve years old, Shōya was rather unkempt and often came home wet or dirty. He is of average height and weight for his age, although slightly taller than his friends Kazuki Shimada and Keisuke Hirose. His head appears slightly shorter compared to his future self, though still retaining a pointed face and chin. The film premiered in 120 theaters across Japan on September 17, 2016. [14] [31] It was screened at the 2016 Scotland Loves Animation festival on October 22, 2016, [32] and at the ICA in London on February 5, 2017. [33] Anime Limited distributed and released the film in the United Kingdom and Ireland on March 15, 2017. [34] Purple Plan released the film in Singapore and Malaysia on March 9, 2017. [35] Madman Entertainment released the film for a limited duration in Australia and New Zealand from April 9, 2017, and April 16, 2017, respectively. [36] Viz Media Europe acquired the film for distribution in Europe (excluding the UK and Ireland), Russia, Turkey, and French-speaking Africa in 2017. [37] In 2017, Konnichiwa Festival released the movie in theaters in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Peru for a limited time in May, while in countries like Argentina and Uruguay, Anifest had a theatrical release in June. [38] Pioneer Films released the movie in the Philippines on May 10, 2017. [39] Eleven Arts screened the film at Anime Expo on July 3, 2017, with a limited theatrical release in the U.S. on October 20, 2017, [40] [41] and a second screening in January 2019. [42] Home video [ edit ] TheAn arc, which plays a large role in shaping the second half of the story, is cut from the manga. Many characters in the movieend up feeling out of place or useless. At last I have to say it is a much worthy film that mankind should give it a run in their lifetime. This is a motivation being itself.

The only technical thing that I didn't like in this film is that some scenes have unusual tones that don't match well with their focuses (most probably because of cultural differences). It was really odd for me. Kazuki Shimada and Keisuke Hirose: Shōya used to be close friends with Kazuki and Keisuke during sixth grade. They jumped into the river and got into mischief together as part of daily daredevil contests. After Shōya was solely blamed for bullying Shōko, his friends began to distance themselves from him and became his bullies. Seeing Kazuki again at the amusement park’s takoyaki stall, Shōya stiffened as he met eyes with his former friend. He was not happy with their meeting and found it aggravating that Naoka had purposely set him up. When Shōya fell from Shōko’s balcony, Kazuki and Keisuke were the ones to pull him out of the river and help save his life, though he would only find this out from Naoka some time later. Composer Kensuke Ushio, recognizing the central role of sound in the film, gave importance to musical and non-musical elements, including silence. The song "lvs", played when Shōko is excluded from the class community, was recorded by putting a microphone inside a piano, obtaining a muffled sound in which the piano mechanics' noises are emphasized. This technique recreates for the viewer an effect that resembles Shōko's perception. [21] Release [ edit ]Shōya would try to meet up with Shōko to help her feed koi in the river much to the ire of her younger sister Yuzuru, who takes advantage of Shōya illegally jumping into the river to retrieve Shōko's notebook to take a photo of the incident and post it online to have him suspended from school. When Yuzuru runs away from home, Shōya offers to let her stay at his house, and the two reconcile. So as one can probably tell, 'A Silent Voice' really resonated with me on an emotional level. At the same time, it also really made me think and see that there is much more to the issue, the bully, the witnesses and the victim than one would tend to perceive. 'A Silent Voice' also turned out to be a very good film in its own right. It isn't flawless, some of the supporting characters are under-explored and in a few cases inconsistently and one-dimensionally written and some of the story jumps around and doesn't always feel complete. In Japan, the film received a terrestrial television premiere on August 25, 2018, at 9:00 PM through NHK Educational TV and it received an audience rating of 2.5%, according to the video statistics. [52] It was aired on July 31, 2020, at 9:00 PM through Nippon TV's Friday Night Roadshow amid the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan, along with Akiyuki Shinbo and Nobuyuki Takeuchi's Fireworks. [53] Reception [ edit ] Box office [ edit ] The animation in this movie is absolutely gorgeous. There's a firework scene that is beautiful, it definitely is the animation highlight in this film...it's breathtaking.

In the case of a movie, it is more important to be original. Not often does one find themselves rooting for a bully as well as the victim, 'A Silent Voice' is one of those rarities.
