About this deal

Henry Allergy (HVA160) - A smaller, light blue version of the standard Henry model for capturing allergens, 6-litre capacity. The successor to the Henry Micro. [15] Hetty HET200 - Short for Henrietta, pink "feminine" version of Henry, introduced on 7 July 2007 to be marketed towards women. Her face is different from all the other models' in having long eyelashes. [25] [26] Henry is made by the British manufacturer Numatic International Ltd.Numaticare a Somerset based company with over 700 employees! The company was founded by Chris Duncan in 1968 when he spotted a gap in the market for a compact canister vacuum. He realised there was a need for a machine that was not only durable, but easy to maintain and work with on a daily basis. With a six Litre capacity, Hetty is the same size as the Henry 160-11, but is smaller than the Henry 200-11 which comes in at 9 litres. So is Hetty smaller than Henry? It all depends on which model you’re comparing against. Includes parts, labour, call out and delivery charges, so you can rest assured there are no hidden costs.

Over the years we’ve seen his family grow rapidly. We’ve since been introduced to Hetty, Charles, George and James, among others. They specialise in all sorts of jobs whether it’s clearing up troublesome pet hair or devouring spilled liquids. Henry is the model that started it all – although he’s had a number of upgrades over the years. With a charming exterior and simple design, you could be forgiven for thinking it can’t compete with more expensive models. As we found in our Henry Hoover review, however, this is far from the case. However, Charles is quite a bit lighter than George and doesn’t come with as many accessories as his older brother. The main thing missing with Charles when compared to George is the extra carpet / upholstery cleaner. If this is something you require, then you’d be better off going for George, but if it’s something you don’t feel you need, then Charles is the man for you as he’s generally cheaper than George and lighter. An additional versatility with the Henry range are the bags. You can use the same set of bags throughout the majority of their machines. The wet and dry, the pet hair, and the larger models all use a one-size-fits-all-capacities bag. It makes it easier to shop. Durability & ReliabilityWe have covered just about everything there is you need to know before you make your choice. The Henry vacuum cleaner range is extensive and iconic. There is a high chance that they will be the only thing to survive a nuclear explosion and still work. It has a useful hi/low feature which allows you to switch seamlessly between the more powerful 1,200w and a lower 600w mode. It’s a great way to manage your electricity use. For most jobs, 600w will be more than enough power to get the job done, but occasionally, for really stubborn tasks, you might want to switch up to the more powerful 1,200w. This allows you to do just that. In the light of recent European legislation, though, Numatic have released a less powerful 620w model, but they’ve put in a huge effort to tune this up so despite the power drop you still get excellent performance – capable of meeting any job. Henry (and Hetty) Compact (HVR160 and HET160) - Smaller and more compact versions of the standard Henry models, 6-litre capacity. [11] Basil NB200 - Yellow, lower-cost version of Henry which was also available in red, blue and green. Its colour was later changed to lime green when it was re-released as a Halloween special edition on 10 July 2005, discontinued by the end of the year.

The Harry has won Which? Best Buy awards for basically being brilliant. It’s good enough at removing pet hair that they give it their stamp of approval. Henry is also hugely practical. The 2.3m long flexible hose is perfect for reaching awkward places, and should see you vacuuming up and down your stairs with minimal effort. It might sound like a complex term regarding suction or energy efficiency, Numatic International are the manufacturers of the Henry. Incidentally, although known as Henry Hoovers, they aren’t Hoovers by brand.

You can’t deny there’s a bit of a royal theme running through some of the current names, with Henry, Charles, George and James all having ruled the land at one time or another. (Hetty is a shortened Henrietta, the female equivalent of Henry.) Some people prefer the ability to wind the cable in and James allows you to do that. He also has a caddy in which he can nicely store away and attachments. A plugged cable means it is pretty easy to replace the mains cable. Some features such as the turbo brush and mini pet turbo tool are only included with certain models of Henry. But they are available to buy as an add-on and are compatible with some of the most popular Henry vacuum cleaners. But that doesn't necessarily make for inferior cleaning performance. There are plenty of cordless vacuums that ace our cleaning tests and score much higher than some corded vacuum cleaners, regardless of their power.
