About this deal

We're also a little underwhelmed by the two plastic sleeves that keep the cable gathered and let you tie it together under your chin for more comfort - these don't look to us like they'll last all that long compared to sturdier options. To be able to deliver such detailed and analytical sound at what is a relatively affordable price is a real achievement and a testament to Sennheiser’s technical expertise. The IE 200 aren’t without a few shortcomings, however.

The dual fit system means that you can position the tip close to the edge of the nozzle or right down at the base with both positions affecting the small vent at the top of the nozzle to create a different sound signature. More positives are that the soundstage is easily coherent and described with width, more so than the similarly priced Letshuoer S12 Pro. There are good levels of detail and clarity – if there is any distortion, I haven’t heard any. However, they aren’t convincing all-rounders, and just fall short of the transparency and entertainment of the more affordable, class-leading competition at this level. If you're dead set on wired Sennheisers, maybe consider the solid performance of the cheaper Sennheiser IE 200 as a more budget-friendly alternative. Impedance is 18 ohms, which is very low and should make it a very easy task to ‘drive’ these headphones from a source device, whether that be a smartphone, portable music player, or even a laptop.Cons: - Needs a cable out of the box that won't strangle you or vice versa. If you wear glasses the plastic ear hoors makes all kinds of noise and is super distracting.

All-new, ultra-flexible low-mass braided cable with 3.5mm single-ended termination (fits balanced cables with Fidelity+ MMCX connectors, sold separately) Precision assembly Transducers are manufactured using an advanced process to minimize unit-to-unit variation of the miniature dynamic drivers The open position will drop the bass quantity a little and accentuate the highs a bit more to create a cleaner more neutral performance. Whereas, the standard position increased the IE 200 bass presence and drops the mid-highs by a few dB to create a smoother tuning. One of the reasons headphones and earphones in India are more expensive than overseas is because of the Goods & Services Tax in India. One very subtle design aspect that you might miss when first using the IE 200 is a small vent towards the top of the nozzle. This is part of the tuning system that works in tandem with the ear tip positioning. There is a more obvious additional vent on the front plate to allow the dynamic driver to breathe. A very warm welcome! Sennheiser, to the entry level space of audiophiles with the IE 200s. It’s an addition to their existing IE series lineup of IEMs IE900, IE 600 and IE 300. Let’s have a look at it closely in this review. the bass and treble ends (the frequency response curve looks like a bathtub!) You’ll find nothing of the

I forget where I saw this, but I remember seeing an article where Sennheiser/Axel Grell started talking about multiple driver headphones and their limitations. He felt that a single driver is the best way to reproduce sound. As far as I know, Sennheiser has never produced a multiple driver IEM. I didn’t think much of it at the time but the more I time I spend with the IE200 and IE600 the more I’m starting to agree. I have many high-end multiple driver custom headphones. Don’t get me wrong, they sound fantastic for various reasons, but I do hear what Axel was saying. I feel like there are no gaps in the sound. Multiple driver IEMs can’t seem to touch the level of coherency of a single driver. The transition from the lows to mids to highs is seamless. It also sounds a lot more natural to my years. Just my two cents. Sennheiser Proprietary MMCX connectors. Though a very good connection with benefits not easy/cheap or abundantly easy to source out new cables especially if you only have one product that needs this connection. The form factor of the IE 200 has pretty much the same design language as its more illustrious siblings though its materials are, unsurprisingly given the lower price point, a bit lower in quality. Over to something a little sprightlier, Big Thief’s folk-infused Spud Infinity, and the IE 200 communicate the joviality with a clear, agile midrange. The spring-boing sounds at the farthest sides of the soundstage are a reminder of the earbuds’ breadth, while their audibility as they move beneath the vocal and guitar melody is a testament to the Sennheisers’ finer-detail retrieval. They focus on every musical strand, even as new ones come in. It would be unfair to call the Sennheisers boring or vague, but they are notably less astute and more subdued than their more talented, more affordable rival. VerdictI have been a Sennheiser fan since I was a kid. I still remember jamming out to Collective Soul (on MiniDisk!) with my HD555. Sennheiser is working on a balanced cable to work with the IE200. It's expected sometime in the spring of 2023.
