About this deal

In operation, the mic is pin-drop silent with a noise floor that’s vanishingly low – a remarkable result for a valve mic. This is where the cooling system is essential, enabling the tube to work efficiently without turning the microphone into an oven. Numerous alternatives have been tried, but almost all of them require changes to the circuit, and it’s almost universally agreed that there is something special about the VF14 valve and the circuit Neumann designed around it that is intrinsic to the magic of this celebrated microphone, and which cannot be replicated with other valves. Given that the tooling and expertise needed to produce new VF14s is long since gone, this makes it almost impossible to create a true clone of the U47 today. Golden Mike Award presented by the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists in the 1970s The Sony C‑800G is among the greatest vocal mics ever made, but getting hold of one has never been easy. Enter Golden Age, and their faithful recreation... In addition, Blue and Blizzard have also provided hundreds of HD samples from the World of Warcraft universe. With various voice clips from Bolvar, Jaina, Sylvanas, and Thrall, you can taunt people on stream and have characters join you. If you’re Dungeon Master for a Dungeons and Dragons session, however, perhaps various ambience or environmental sounds, creature noises, and spell noises may be handy to really immerse your players into the world.

Golden Age are, to my knowledge, the first company to create such a faithful version of this famous mic and its original specs — and this is reflected in the price, of course. There are inevitably a few differences, but in the mic itself you'll find the same French 6AU6A tube, and the circuitry is identical to the original. They did, however, take the opportunity to upgrade the material choice for the circuit board itself, from epoxy to a (much more expensive) Rogers ceramic version. This, they claim, sounded better in blind listening tests. Other than that, the power supply is where the most differences can be found, as GA decided to use a solid-state design (the original used a valve), again based on listening tests and long-term reliability. First Impressions While headset boom microphones come with the convenience, they do lose a lot in terms of quality. While the Blue Yeti X World of Warcraft Edition USB Microphone is not going to stand up against professional studio XLR microphones, it is still in a league of its own in terms of USB microphones. Perhaps Blue have done extensive testing and there is not much quality difference between Micro-USB and USB-C, but at this price point I thought for sure that the connection into the microphone would be USB-C (with two cords provided for options). For me, it would feel just that bit more… modern and high tech if it was using the far superior and universal USB-C connections.

The C‑800G is especially revered in pop, rap and R&B circles, partly by association (it's a favourite microphone for many well–known vocalists), and perhaps also because of a perception of exclusivity due to the substantial cost! It is, however, an excellent–sounding tube microphone that has a bright, present sound that manages to sound simultaneously smooth, glossy and 'expensive'. Based on my own previous encounters with the mic it manages to achieve this whilst also being very sympathetic to sibilance and other general harshness you might encounter when recording vocals. Quite simply, if I could afford it I would have one in my studio's collection, so I was very intrigued to see how close Golden Age have got to the original. The Golden Mike Award is a broadcast journalism award presented by the Radio and Television News Association (RTNA) of Southern California. Awards are given in the categories of television news and radio news. Eligibility is limited to a select group of Southern California counties. [1] Golden Mike (i.e., " microphone") Awards are presented at a gala dinner in Hollywood every January. Every Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 PM IST, the programme will be shown on Sony TV and Sony LIV. Let’s examine who among the competitors took home the Golden Mic and what it is. Who won golden mike yet? Over the years, a number of organizations in the U.S., the Far East, and South Asia have given out so-called "Golden Mike Awards", for journalists, broadcasters, and public speakers (with "mike" or "mic" referring to a microphone). For example: If you are a fan of the bright lights of RGB, and there’s nothing wrong with that if that’s your thing, this microphone may not be for you. Throughout its entire design, it keeps things subtle and restrained.

Some of the best singers appeared on Indian Idol 13’s first and second episodes, and a couple of them were Golden Mic winners. Let’s examine them.Of course, this minor detail hasn’t stopped modern-day manufacturers from producing large cylindrical valve mics with the numerals 4 and 7 in the model name. Latest to do so are Golden Age, who will be well known to SOS readers for the affordable recreations of classic outboard hardware in their Project line. The GA-47 is the first member of a new Golden Age Premier product range, designed to occupy a rather higher price band than their other gear and to showcase higher standards of build quality.
