About this deal

The experience is more immersive, with sound effects creating a space much larger than the Game Zeros little brother. The GSP 600 slots in just below the 670 in their hierarchy and certainly isn’t cheap, but it’s full of materials and finishes that make you feel like you’re getting the VIP treatment.

It's worth noting that while they do come with an in-built microphone, this only works when you’re connected through Bluetooth - not the USB-C dongle. This allows you to determine the location of various elements in your game (directional sound), even when they are not visible on screen.

If you’re mostly a role-playing game aficionado, though, you might have to invest in a device that handles voices better — and honestly, just about every headset on our Best Headsets list can do so. Equipped with noise cancelling and excellent sensitivity, the voice transmission is absolutely clear. In the gaming world, however, the German audio company is treading new ground with its G4ME ONE and G4ME ZERO headsets.Prior to a recent stint as Gaming Editor at WePC, Rob was the Commissioning Editor for Hardware at GamesRadar+, and was on the hardware team for more than four years, since its inception in late 2018. The EPOS Gaming Suite is focused and effective, delivering gamers the control and features they need to enhance their personal enjoyment of gaming audio. For gamers in loud environments, EPOS Gaming Suite provides a customizable noise gate – the threshold for allowing sound through is simple to set visually on a live view of the frequencies being picked up by the microphone. Not being able to listen to the outside world and the world not being able to listen to my music was a wonderful experience that made me feel like I’ve been separated from everybody else.

Both headphone pairs have a frequency response of 15Hz to 28000Hz, and their mics have a frequency response of 50Hz to 16000Hz. The opposite ear cup has a fairly large dial that allows you to adjust the volume of the headphones without reaching around.

For instance, the ear pads are constructed differently than the Game Ones and create a tighter seal with your ear. Only the lack of surround sound and the rise in temperature in the well sealed ear cups are likely to displease some users. Plus it also delivers amazing audio quality across the entire range from quiet moody music to in your face explosions and gunfire.

On the show floor at PAX East, I got a chance to put on a pair of Sennheiser's higher-end G4ME ZERO hooked up to an Xbox One to see how the company is fairing with its new range of gaming cans. Let me start by saying that both the Sennheiser Game One and Game Zero have quite a number of similarities and both are great for gaming. Hands on reviews' are a journalist's first impressions of a piece of kit based on spending some time with it. The Game Zero came through with absolute precision; I could accurately pinpoint to where a certain sound is coming from. Finely tuned to suit a mid-range, but capable enough to deliver a wide variety of ranges, the Game Zero is a splendid companion for shooting games.

The Game Zero headset sits in that comfortable middle ground between the GSP 300 and the GSP 370, offering another excellent mid-range option for people looking to spend a little more cash overall on a wired, traditional headset. The precise sound that I experienced is expected of studio headphones and for a stereo headset to offer it is highly praise-worthy. In addition to the already mentioned sound experience, Sennheiser promises the large group of gamers perfect noise filtering and a sophisticated design. Audiophiles know Sennheiser is respected in the audio world from noise canceling earphones to massive DJ styled headphones. The Game Zeros are slightly more expensive, but present mostly the same view as seen with the Game Ones.
