PDF / EPUB File Name: Her_Bridegroom_Bought_and_Paid_For_-_Alice_Coldbreath.pdf, Her_Bridegroom_Bought_and_Paid_For_-_Alice_Coldbreath.epub And the MF keep on coming, I actually switched between MM and MF, but I'm reviewing them all together by gender apparently. 🤣🤣🤣 The ending at Court was a little farfetched. I loved how he wanted to know how to hold her regard if he wasn't showing his strength thru the tournaments- what honesty. And she was able to ask him what she was supposed to do to hold HIS regard. Very well written. And, well!! we can always trust Miss Coldbreath to write great steamy scenes. This one though is slightly different because of a widow h and virgin hero.

I was so excited for this one as I am for every release from AC. No doubt this is still a solid story and I'm obvs still highly anticipating the next one and will happily give all my money to her till the end of time. BUT this book is one of my least fav books of all of her works. For those who this bothers--this book does have some odd inconsistencies and some editing issues. I can't say I warmed up to Isemay, her sister, but her plan for vengeance sets up the next story quite well. published on 2022-08-15T21:01:39Z Children's Literature Sample 3rd Person Young Female/ Old Female DialogueMy Opinion: Having read several of Alice Coldbreath’s other books and really loved them, I was so excited for the release of this one and I was sure I would love it. However, I was left a little disappointed. It wasn’t even that the book was outright bad, it was just very underwhelming in my opinion. Aimee however is certain that she can get him to love her. But when she realises her fantasy might not live up to the reality, she isn’t sure what to do. There is no denying that Ms coldbreath is a great writer, she writes fun and entertaining characters, and creates very interesting worlds, but things are getting slightly repetitive. These characters are all starting to blend together. There were times when Lord Kentigern was starting to feel a bit too much like Mason Vawdrey or few of Ms Coldbreath’s other grumpy heroes. stars. It‘s no secret that I love Alice Coldbreath’s writing… and therefore, this book was probably my most anticipated of the year. I bought it immediately when I saw that it had been released & I’m happy to say that it didn’t disappoint! Other than that though, this book was quite similar to the rest of the series; with a marriage of convenience (the only trope Coldbreath writes), a knight hero who competes in Touneys, a strong heroine who’s assertive and takes no crap and a cleaning or renovation of a house or castle.

Hands down, this is the funniest book by the author. The Marriage scene is great. But, the best things come after marriage. Again, the hate to love to trope mingled with their banter(actually mini duals🤣🤣) are legendary. I'm an unabashed Alice Coldbreath fan, and this new Brides of Karadok book didn't disappoint! Yay! It's less Beauty and the Beast and more "no man is an island," with a heavily scarred hero who lost his home and fortune fighting on the wrong side of a war (now 7 or so years in the past) and a wealthy merchant's daughter who falls in love with him when he acts with rare nobility upon a tournament defeat. Hero Konrad makes a few missteps along the way, but it's more because he's clueless rather than cruel, and after hurting the heroine's feelings very badly by awarding the tourney crown, with his usual cynicism, to piss off/unsettle a rival knight, he spends most of the book learning to be more considerate and loving. It's super cute! If you love sassy dialogues between two soulmates that are too busy arguing to realize they are perfect for each other, look no further: Sabina and Jeffrey won’t disappoint. Sabina was so funny, Jeffrey so correct and blunt. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed banter so much. Now, I loved Jeffree. I’m not going to start tossing out terms but he definitely seemed like an atypical character with how he didn’t really comprehend subtle stuff and did better with straight forwardedness. Overall, Aimee and Konrad’s relationship and romance got a little lost amid everything else. I didn’t think this book was up to par with what I’ve read from Alice Coldbreath in the past. The H/h are forced to marry when a scheme to discredit Sabina's younger sister forces her to speak up and take the blame. This involves the H Jeffree, so he demands they marry to salvage his honor. If you've read the other books, you know that Jeffree is an insufferable prig. Sabina doesn't have the highest opinion of him and she feels beneath him due to her station (even though she was raised a gentlewoman) and the fact that she is a widow who was estranged from her husband when he died.

published on 2023-06-19T17:00:02Z Humorous Medieval Historical Romance M/F Dialogue Estuary and RP Accents This is probably the 8th Marriage of Convenience HR by Alice Coldbreart and other than one disappointment, I have loved all of them. I wouldn't even mind reading 20+ more MOC stories set during the same medieval period by her.As much as I enjoy Karadok, I have to agree with some other reviewers that mayhap it is time to either put it down for a nap or fully to rest. Because the last two novels have had some rather serious characterization issues that were beyond aggravating and are leading me to believe that Coldbreath could be struggling through these. I liked Aimee and Konrad, but some of their faults wore on me a little. Aimee was young and I thought needed to mature, which only comes from experience. Konrad used his scarring and grumpy attitude to keep everyone at a distant and leaned too heavily into his persona. Both needed to face some truths about themselves, although Aimee was more caring and delicate in prompting Konrad to understand that he had friends and support, whereas he was far too blunt in pointing out some of Aimee's flaws. But they adjusted! The tokens that Aimee gave him were adorable and Konrad asking her to wear his colors again, beating himself up over his missteps was sweet. These two also had to acclimate to the marriage bed as well. Though there are lots of steamy times like the rest of the series and some sweet intimate moments involved too. Sabina and Jeffree's story was also different because usually the heroine is a sheltered virgin and the hero is worldly and experienced (this is not ALWAYS the case, such as Fenella's story, but she was still pretty sheltered and I don't believe she had ever had an orgasm before). Sabina is a widow who knows her way around her body (although Jeffree makes her feel things she hasn't felt before, for sure), and Jeffree took a vow of chastity at 18. He has never slept with a woman or even kissed one before. I don't know WHY I love the virgin hero trope so much (probably because it's so rare), but I LOVED IT here, especially since Jeffree was such a hothead. I loved that Sabina had to teach him. ;D I was crushed and I hated his clueless ass. He did her wrong, guys, he did her wrong! But he figured it out. He felt terrible. He beat himself up for it over and over again and he spent the entire rest of the book making up for it. It culminated at the ending with the humblest grovel of all the book grovels, ever. So I was satisfied.

I want to…”Jeffree’s words were gruff, his eyes studiously avoiding hers. “I want to touch your hair. Can I?” Aimee Ankatel, youngest daughter to the richest merchant in all Karadok only has eyes for the heavily scarred Lord Kentigern. A ferocious competitor, her heart beats louder when she watches him compete in the field. Not one of the handsome knights of Karadok draws her admiration like he does. I do want to say that this autor can write and I loved how our virginal heroe discovered his Sexual prowess and how our leading lady helped him through it. I really enjoyed getting inside Jeffree's head, the utter naivete and ignorance about women and life and his VOW- too funny. "He had to own he was a little rash" -what a typical male response- what an understatement! stars. I liked the romance between Jeffree and Sabina. His obsession with her hair, particularly her braids, was cute. The gradual growth in Jeffree was nice to see after his dry and loveless upbringing. Sabina truly brought him out of himself.Alice Coldbreath grew up in a small village in England and likes to day-dream about medieval warlords and lively heroines. In every day life she is devoted to her geriatric cat, her vegetable garden and watching cosy murder-mysteries on the TV. She loves to read steamy romances, preferably with a heavy dash of humour. I also felt like I didn't get to KNOW Konrad all that well. Yes, we know that his face was horribly scarred in a battle that he fought for the north (cough Scotland cough), and he hasn't been with a woman since. But what happened to him in that six or seven year time span? Was he a prisoner afterwards? One would assume so. How did that affect him and his personality? We never did get to see, as readers, what he was like before the scarring - not physically speaking, but emotionally. Was he always taciturn and brooding? Or was he more easygoing? And it was mentioned that he was betrothed to someone before the war - what, exactly, happened there? I was left with a lot of questions, and it made Konrad feel a bit more two-dimensional to me. Perhaps with time, you might find some outward expression of your love that did not involve your penis?” she suggested tartly.🤣🤣 published on 2022-06-13T02:03:44Z Life Sentences Historical Fiction, First Person Cork, Ireland, Accent You must have been unaccustomedly well-behaved that day,” he said sounding vaguely accusatory, “else I would have notice you, to be sure.
