About this deal

If you are looking for a windowsill unit, try the Jumbo Windowsill Propagator. You can fill it with soil and plant the seeds or add containers. . Unlike the others, this device has thermostatic control that maintains the soil or the containers at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. It comes with a clear lid that promotes sufficient light penetration. The lid lifts with ease and it also has adjustable vents for humidity control. There’s only one open heating space, so you’re not restricted by smaller ‘cells’. The only real downside to this is that seeds can’t be individually ventilated. The plastic lid has two vents, which can be opened or closed to help regulate the temperature inside the propagator. For example, if you run a propagator of 100 W for an hour, at this rate, it will cost you 1.4p for that hour. A propagator of 50 W will cost 0.7p for an hour. And a propagator of 22 W will cost you 0.3 p per hour.

If you want to buy a heated propagator, the following information should help clear up any doubts or questions you may have: Choosing the Right Size Given that propagation can be a little hit and miss, having space in this large 52 x 42.5 x 28cm unit for so many seeds is one way to help increase the chances of success! Please note that the right to return goods which are not faulty does not apply to any goods which have been made to your own specifications. First, you will need to know how much your energy provider charges per kilowatt-hour. Let’s say they charge 14p per kWh (a relatively standard rate in the UK).

Then, you’ll need to multiply the wattage of the propagator by the number of hours it’ll be used each day. Divide this number by 1000 and multiply by 14 (or your specific kWh rate). The plastic is nice and robust, especially the little green trays and lids, which I really like (lids have vents I never had closed). Propagators aren’t really the sort of thing that looks stylish, I think the Super 7 is a little bit though, especially when different seedlings start germinating. It’s cool and compact. Electric propagators can range in wattage, and the size of the propagator will also affect how much power you need. The wattage determines the cost of running it. Heated base unit– Raises compost temperature by around 8°C and evenly distributes the heat for better growth. Most standard propagators either come with on large seed tray, or one larger tray and a few separate smaller trays. These may be contained under the same roof, or in individual ‘cells’.

Although this propagator doesn’t have a timer or thermostat, the growing conditions can be controlled to an extent using the air vents. It’s also incredibly simple to use, while the heat produced is even across the 7 trays. Whilst this propagator does heat well, unfortunately there is no thermostat or temperature control. However, it seems to work effectively without the need for any of these added features. In general, the temperature inside the propagator rises by around 8°C and maintains a consistent heat. This is not intended to be a full statement of your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Full details of your rights are available from your Local Authority’s Trading Standards Office. How To Return A Product Measuring just 18.5cm wide, this propagator easily fits onto the average window ledge. The 76cm length means you can still fit ample seeds into this unit. The roof is high enough to allow seedlings to grow around 5cm, and the trays are also sufficiently deep to offer enough space for roots to fully develop. As a result, when it comes to planting seedlings out, they are already well established. To allow adequate space for seedlings to establish, the best propagator will be around 15 – 20 cm in height . Ideally, you want to be looking for a propagator with a wattage of around 13 – 22 W . This will provide sufficient heat for seedlings without being too costly to run. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 10 – 15°C so the propagator needs enough power to maintain this.

You can also select a convenient day to receive your delivery by choosing a named day delivery (delivery on working days only). The number of compartments will allow you to grow several types of different types of seeds; you can adjust the soil type and environment to suit the individual seed. The Suttons Super 7 propagator is a good match for gardeners who like to grow vegetables and fruit seeds. In terms of flexibility, this unit has a lot to offer. For example, it has seven tabs, and each one of them has a vented clear lid. Working days are defined as Monday-Friday 8am-7pm inclusive, excluding Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. Next Day & Named Day DeliveryWith this unit, you can expect a soil temperature rise of up to 8°C. It maintains warmth at all times because it doesn’t have a thermostat. Additionally, it is light and easy to move around. The Garland 4 propagator is best for entry-level gardeners. In terms of performance, this propagator can be used to grow a wide variety of seeds. It comes with a 13W carbon fibre element that provides an even heat distribution, raising the temperature by around 8°C. Having said that, it’s still best installed on a sunny windowsill if you’re growing plants that prefer a lot of warmth. If you want to ensure a high yield of germinated seedlings, this 22W Stewart P035B Electric Propagator allows you to plant up to 144 seeds at a time, which can result in germinating at least 50 plants in one ‘round’. The Jumbo Windowsill heat propagator is 20 cm long, 20 centimetres deep, and 80 cm wide. With a 12W heating apparatus, It maintains heat at 21°C throughout. The only problem you will likely have with this propagator is its flimsy lead. However, if you use it carefully, you will love it. 6 Thompson and Morgan Heated Propagator with Air Valve Vent After 28 days, items can still be returned at the discretion of our staff, excluding garden tools, electrical goods, and plants under our 1-year guarantee.
