When monitor is connect to the PC using HDMI, the video or graphics card (GPU) controls the YCbCr setting. This is normal behavior of the monitor. Dell consumer monitors are inspected at 150-lux ambient lighting (similar to typical office lighting). Dell UltraSharp and Gaming monitors are inspected with a tighter criteria of 70-lux ambient lighting (dimly lit room but not dark). When changing the monitor’s resolution from Windows Display Settings, the image quality may not be good. on Dell internal analysis using publicly available specs in August 2023 comparing maximum effective capacity for PowerStore 1200 and FlashArray //X20. Assumes average 4:1 data reduction for PowerStore, 5:1 for Pure Storage. Actual results vary. Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro. Some combinations of USB Type-C to HDMI dongle and video or graphics card (GPU) are not compatible to support the YCbCr color format. Dell P2422H monitor uses a curved IPS panel, the corners of the screen may appear slight yellowish or pinkish, especially when viewing in dark room. This is normal IPS panel behavior and typically does not affect the overall viewing performance.
Performance-wise, the bad news continues. The P2422HE tops out at a peak brightness of 221cd/m² (199cd/m² in Default mode), which is lower than Dell’s quoted peak and substantially worse than rivals such as the BenQ GW2485TC. The result is simply that, in bright conditions, the P2422HE’s panel is harder to see than I would have liked. When the monitor is connected to a PC using HDMI and PBP mode is turned off, the monitor may display images at the lower resolution (2560 x 1440) rather than automatically switching to the native resolution (1920 x 1080).Display mode changes from "Second screen only" to "Extended mode" after opening and closing the laptop LCD. The display mode on your PC reverts to "Duplicate" or "Extend,." This dependson which was selected before you changed to "Second screen only" or "Projector only" when you close and open the laptop screen.
A few permanently bright or dark pixels are considered normal by industry standards. The exact number of pixels that are allowed varies depending on the monitor. Dell markets the P2422HE as a “hub monitor”, and that’s I’d say that was pretty much on the money. This monitor covers every conceivable base and a few more for good measure. I’m particularly fond of the daisy-chaining feature, which I pushed to its limits by connecting the P2422HE to the 34in ultrawide Huawei MateView GT (with no difficulties whatsoever, I should add). All other products will be delivered via the fastest available method (excluding bank holidays and weekends) and generally within 3-5 days, depending on customer location.
