About this deal

Imagine you're Shogo Hasui around 2017. As part of the overseas product team you had been working on the new Studio Series a while and the whole team were having a blast especially with the movie CGI files available for reference. Then you went in a meeting one day and you were told Hasbro wanted the full Constructicons line up in the Studio Series, that can combine. And of course being the virtuoso veteran on the team, you were nominated to spearhead this project. Aside from all the wtf damn you Hasbro thoughts that also ran through Takashi Kunihiro san's head when he was handed the design task of the RotF Leader Prime/Jetfire combo, you sit down and take a look at some of the difficulties you have on hand: Plus, the Constructicon crew is overall pretty light on for firepower, so giving them a dedicated 'canon' bot makes sense to me! Entertainment News International (ENI) is the #1 popular culture network for adult fans all around the world. Thanks to PrimeVsPrime on Youtube, we can share for you a nice set of images of the impressive Transformers Studio Series Devastator for your viewing pleasure.

Unlike regular Power Bots, and unlike other portrayals of the character in general, Devastator features a transformation! It consists of putting his arms up and laying him flat on his stomach, which lets him roll around using the wheels on his limbs. Pressing down the Decepticon shield on his crotch (!) spins the vortex in his chest, lights up his eyes and makes him utter one of many Welker-recorded phrases, including "Prepare for extermination!", "Crush Autobots!" and "I am Devastator!" Pressing on the crane of his excavator arm makes a cannon blast sound effect, while pressing the cab of his loader arm turns the scoop into claws. All that rambling above, is basically me trying to say what I said when HasTak first reveal this project, that imho SS Devastator is the single most ambitious project(combiner or otherwise) they've ever done. Considering it needs to be fully integrated into a Voyager-sized figure, I think the head is fantastic, and the paint job is superb. Also, spent a while trying to figure out how the struts on Scavenger peg into the giant wheel above his head, couldn't get it to work, then went out on a limb and popped one off and attached it to the other side. Wouldn't you know it, they were misassembled after all. Given that the film establishes multiple sets of Constructicons, it seems entirely possible that more than one "Devastator" could be formed. the left arm feels noticeably heavier to me than the right. The connecting post that everybody is worried about does carry a heavy load, a bit unbalanced no less, but it looks to be made of sturdy ABS so I'm not too concerned. Guess time will tell. The legs might be different in weight in the end,but the upper body weighs so much more it feels like that's negligible.

Devastator also has what appears to be two smaller excavator shovels that fold out of his mouth as he expands it to use his Vortex Grinder. At this point it feels as if the animators were just throwing in random construction equipment components all over the show to exaggerate his size, despite there only being between a debatable nine or ten vehicles visible pre-transformation. In the Pyramid Desert Battle scene from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the desert sands quake as the Constructicons combine to form Devastator. So realizing how big a bullet I'd have to bite to buy an aftermarket Scrapmetal once I had judged SS Devastator as being a sufficient level of want, I decided the easiest solution would be to get this set and pawn off the extra Long Haul I got literal days before this was announced some time in the future. Wouldn't you know it, the one toy in this entire set who's individual release has the highest aftermarket markup, and he's the one with a missing piece. I went from bummed that I have to now carve out a replacement piece for him, to terrified when I tried to connect him to Hightower and couldn't find the attachment peg and thinking "Oh crap, don't tell me that's the piece I'm missing", to relieved when I actually found the peg and confirmed from videos online that yes it is the front wheel that's missing.

While Mixmaster is still brilliant, all the toxins he's worked on have rotted his own circuits and made him less and less careful with the chemicals he uses. RPM Mixmaster Mega Power Bots Devastator is a simple toy for younger children, featuring plenty of playing sounds and flashing lights. His limbs have limited swivel articulation and do not detach into separate vehicles. He has a distinctly more humanoid stature than normal. The TakaraTomy release of this figure has extra paint applications on Devastator's face, for a better resemblance to the final CG model. Announced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Revenge of the Fallen, the holy grail known as Studio Series Devastator consists of eight (yes, eight) Constructicons that combine into one mechanical giant. While meant to celebrate the film's tenth anniversary, some members were released in 2020.

figures combine to form the Devastator figure in 11 steps. Figures also convert between robot and construction vehicle modes. Perfect for fans looking for a more advanced converting figure. For kids and adults ages 8 and up We also have comparison shots next to his ROTF “ancestor”, Combiner Wars Devastator and several other Studio Series figures. We are sure your optics will be pleased with this new incarnation of ROTF Devastator. The "Mixmaster" body-type was among the very first of these new beings, one of several "builders" who would construct a harvester when a suitable sun had been found. Once built, the device would drain the energy of these stars, thus replenishing the AllSpark. Defiance #4Amusingly, the prototype image for the Studio Series figure, revealed in early 2019, presented the figure with a grey face and green lit mouth similar to the original promotional images for the movie, with the final figure using red paint applications for a screen-accurate face. Hasui opted for omitting the knee joint altogether, which is a sensible decision imo. This also facilitates the much stronger sliding connection between Overload and the two legs. Judging by all the TakTom official photos Devy was probably designed standing only so I haven't really tried fan-moding him on all fours yet. Might add to this post later. As to the hunching physique, yeah nothing much you can do to fight gravity really; I'm happy Devy can be hunched as is. Edit: Nevermind, Scavenger wasn't misassembled. I just tried attaching the struts while they were behind him instead of in front of him. Devastator's final CGI head differs from that used for his promotional images, including more red panels and several pulleys and wires, four highly pronounced horns, and a trio of throat gears lit like a furnace instead of a single complex vortex machine lit green like his eyes. All of the toys and most of the video games released around the film depicted Devastator with a completely grey head, with later Takara releases of his Supreme and Legends class toys adding more screen-accurate red paint applications. Mixmaster had attempted to reactivate the rest of the Constructicons and Devastator, but was defeated by Ironhide. Dark of the Moon: Autobots/Decepticons
