Just leave them alone for a while, then all you have to do is top them off with a few lung-fulls of air to firm them up. Self-inflating pads are convenient and easy, though they aren’t totally work-free.

This year, the Arizona Trail had some unique perks and challenges for thru-hike hopefuls. Technology has improved, and modern camping pads are getting better and better. The following pads are plush, and supportive, and offer a luxurious outdoor sleep experience.
