Synthetic, or often referred to as Carbon fibre Cello bows (although not all are carbon fibre), are consistent and often comparable to much more expensive wooden cello bows. It is therefore possible to produce a very reliable, balanced and consistent bow for a low price. Synthetic or Carbon Fibre Cello bows are not affected by temperature variations so are an excellent choice if playing outside. It also means they are highly resistant to warping or losing their spring.
