About this deal

Examples of when they are ideally suited are for cleaning dental implants, braces and misaligned teeth.

Not strictly a brush head, this is a special type of attachment designed for Oral-B’s range of water flossing units, OxyJet and Aquacare. That makes them superior at cleaning between gaps and small areas giving you a more potent brushing experience. Some might find it a little too harsh, the bristles are fairly stiff, particularly if you compare it to the sensitive head. It is not clear precisely what the bristles have on them but they are designed to resist bacteria build-up, inhibiting the growth of bacteria. However, for those looking to achieve specific results or have special brushing requirements, Oral-B does offer a little more choice. You can really take advantage of this feature if you wish to achieve certain oral hygiene goals, if your needs change over time or if you share a toothbrush handle with someone else. It sounds extreme, but the best way I can describe this head is that is is more aggressive than the others. Many people are very happy with the dual clean head and it is fine to continue using this if you prefer.

I’ve just found in my cupboard a single long, thin, bristle brush attachment for your electric toothbrushes. This is a Pinky/Purple coloured piece of rubber, that sits lower than all the other bristles of the brush. The tapered design helps them get deep within the gaps of the teeth to remove plaque and food debris and give a floss like clean. The brush heads shown in the table below will work with any Oral-B brush handle, apart from the Stages Power Kids and the Oral-B iO series. If you want to know more about each brush head or the other choices you have, this guide tells you all you need to know. I was referring the brush heads on the Black Edition having this ‘Clean Maximiser Technology’, but as you stated it seems there is no real difference. If you have an iO or wish to know more about Oral-B iO heads, please view our Oral-B iO brush heads section.

It might be tricky to position correctly, initially, but the use of a pickpocket tip that comes provided with the likes of the Waterpik Aquarius (and a bit of practice) might help.

On the outer edge are a number of tightly clustered bristles that essentially form a ring around a much denser array of centre bristles. Having such a range of very similar products is just trying to be “too clever” IMHO – marketing gone out of control. They tend to be the smaller/smallest options from all the brands that still deliver good cleaning performance. Just like the original heads, these iO specific brush heads do push onto and pull off of the iO Series brush handle. For optimal results, we recommend you change your brush head every 3 months, after you have been ill or when the bristles become worn.
