About this deal

I can't speak to the SRAM piece of the equation, but I can't imagine it's *that* different from Shimano. Roads, bridleways, canal paths, deep muddy puddles – all these conditions and more were thrown at them, along with some aggressive riding, and the R1s haven't put a foot wrong yet. Four pairs of bolts in varying lengths are provided for the rear caliper, to suit a range of chainstay depths - a nice touch, some brands make you purchase these separately. Fitting was easy enough, the instructions such as they are make sense and allowing for fitting a new inner cable it only took about twenty minutes to get them on the bike.

The added power of the Shimano hydro is most apparent in the early bite, whereas the power comes on more gradually with the GT's.

GT stands for Grand Tour, and these brakes are designed to offer high performance on road bikes - but they're equally suited to gravel or cyclocross duties. Pair of cable hydraulic disc brakes F1 Flat Mount 160mm black - "plug-and-play" system compatible with mechanical systems - oil tank for automatic pad position https://www. The hybrid system offers the cyclist the option of replacing the mechanical brake caliper with a hydraulic 2-piston brake caliper while retaining the brake cables. If you can fit a set of rim brakes, you can fit these; it's certainly within the capability of a reasonably competent home mechanic.

The Juin tech F1 hydraulic cable pull flat mount disc brake set offers a unique solution to the road/gravel/cyclocross (CX) rider wanting to upgrade from mechanical cable pull disc brakes. Braking performance is enhanced over a mechanical disc brake and the caliper has easy pad and cable adjustment. The package includes a pair of brakes (pads included), 2 flat mount adapters, 2 160 mm discs + screws. I run compressionless housing everywhere but the tight corners,DA cables, Shimano Pads and 160mm Rotors. Whilst most countries do have reasonably high thresholds before charging these fees, it is worth mentioning, and is sadly not something we can do anything about.

Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. That's important as many full hydraulic systems can provide too much stopping power for low rider weights, using larger, more difficult shifters with hydraulic reservoirs. On the rare occasion that we ship you an incorrect item or your item arrives damaged, please get in touch with us so that we can resolve the issue as quickly as we can. In our final week of testing the Juin Tech R1 brakes, I was riding at pace along a quiet shared path when a pedestrian wearing headphones suddenly stepped in front of me. With summer on the wane and cyclocross (not to mention rainy commutes) on the horizon, cyclists' thoughts may be turning to disc brakes.

The brakes operate in a closed circuit and therefore do not need to bleed, there are two adjustments, one for cable play and one for oil pressure / pad distance. We previously tested Juin Tech's R1 brakes (you can read the review here) so were keen to take a look at their latest offering. It was very helpful that the package came with a set of rotors, so this is a way to save some money if that's what you're into. Unfortunately I’m in no position to answer if they are better than Trp Hy/Rd stopping wise and I’m fairly sure a full hydro system would be much much better but overall I’m happy with them. The F1 is the latest addition to the Juin Tech stable, sold as a set including mounting bolts, adaptors and rotors. The Juin tech F1/M1 hydraulic cable pull disc brake set offers a unique solution to the road/gravel/cyclocross/MTB rider wanting to upgrade from mechanical cable pull disc brakes.
