About this deal

All espresso machines must be “DESCALED” regularly. Filtered water or bottled water is free from chemical odours but not free from minerals. Using a water softener is the best option for mineral free water. If a water softener is not installed, then the best option is to descale the machine at least every 2-months. Gaggia spa recommends using the Gaggia Descaler for descaling your machine. Do not rely on the machine to remind you when descaling is due. When available, this feature is programmed by the number of espresso's served. The machine cannot sense the variable hardness of water from one part of the country to another. Follow a definite schedule for descaling every two months. Please DO NOT use vinegar or lemon juice for descaling as a residue will remain on the inside of the boiler which will be hard to get rid off and your coffee will end up with a taste of vinegar or lemon. Features Compact Design Cup Height User Interface Ceramic Burr Grinder Ground Coffee Bypass Milk Foam Specialty Drinks Memo Function Aroma Intensity Pre-Infusion Brew Group Boiler Water Reservoir The machine has default settings, but you can easily make your personal and customized espresso just by following these simple suggestions:

Of course, the manufacturer insists you use Gaggia Decalcifier during the cycle. I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether or not to use a different product. Gaggia hasn’t made the leap to smartphone compatibility or apps yet, and the user interface completes the retro vibe this machine is striving for. It’s not as high-tech as some of the display interfaces I’ve seen on other Gaggia machines. However, it’s also not hard to operate either. For one of the best entry level super automatics, I really can’t ask for more. Allowing you to brew espresso, americano, and milk-based frothy drinks, the Gaggia Brera is the perfect super-automatic coffee maker for any coffee lover. If you have a soft spot for espresso, but also enjoy milk-based coffee drinks, we think you’ll love this machine.

FAQs

The Brera uses ceramic burrs on all of their bean to cup machines, vs stainless steel burrs in the Magnifica. Gaggia state that this is because heat isn't conducted with ceramic burrs as is the case with steel burrs, but whether there is any noticeable difference in the cup I'm not sure, most commercial grinders use steel burrs. This was my only real niggle with the Magnifica, I just couldn't figure out why they didn't put numbers on these dials, especially with the strength dial, with numbers you can use to work out how many grams of coffee you're selecting to grind. You can also use the Gaggia Brera with ground coffee. This is essential for people who like to drink their coffee decaff and will come in handy for anybody who has a favorite ground coffee that they want to turn into lovely, creamy espresso. If you have plenty of height free but you're struggling for depth in the area you want to put your coffee machine, then the Magnifica may work out better for you. Gaggia Brera Vs Magnifica 2: Looks. After priming the machine, feel free to customize your espresso settings. The indicator light will flash red once it’s done preheating, and if you want to make changes to aroma intensity, now’s the time. You can use the coffee bean button to cycle through three brew strengths, and the machine will automatically store that preference for next time.

Accessible from the front of the machine, you should have no problems removing the Brera’s 40 ounce (1.2 liter) water reservoir. The nifty water tank panel reminds me of a trap door, but I doubt you’ll be finding any booby traps inside. Of course, I’d be lying if I said a compact, classic look was all the Brera had to offer. It’s still got a well-rounded list of features that’s impressive enough for me to name it the best entry level machine in my super automatic espresso machine guide 2023. Of course, if you want to know why it’s earned that label, you’ll need to keep reading my Gaggia Brera review! Gaggia Brera Features The Gaggia Brera makes use of an energy efficient standby mode. This activates automatically and ensures that it uses hardly any power at all when not in use – less than 1 watt per hour, in fact. I have plenty of depth to play with on my kitchen worktops, but there's a real struggle for horizontal space, and also vertical space due to the cupboards above, so I found the Brera to be a slightly better fit in terms of space for my kitchen. The Jura Z6 is one of the top models in the automatic machines segment thanks to the PEP Pulse Extraction Process, which allows you to obtain an espresso coffee of the highest quality at the touch of a button. The strength of the Jura Z6 is its ease of use, which combined with the large number of features and stylish design make it the flagship of all automatic models on the market. The figures speak for themselves: 12 types of drinks dispensed, 3 levels of hot water, 13 programmable specialities, 10 levels of coffee intensity, 10 levels of foam temperature. In short, a high-end coffee shop in your own home… Recent PostsThere are fewer buttons & dials on the front of the Brera than there are on the ESAM, and the Brera has an LED display. The ceramic burr grinder is located on the top of the machine and has a number of settings for coarseness. The great thing about a ceramic grinder is that it produces less heat when grinding beans, which prevents flavour evaporating and maintains aroma. Ceramics are also inert, so grinding shouldn’t change the flavour of the beans. The Gaggia Brera loses points because the automatic rinse cycle needs some getting used to (always have a mug ready to catch the water when you switch the machine on or off!). It also means that you must fill up the water tank quite often. If you just want to press a button to get a cappuccino, the One TouchModels will do the job for you. All you need to do is to pour the milk into the milk carafe and press the button for the required milk drink. This is available on the following : In terms of output, the Gaggia Brera gives you a few different options for customizing your coffee. Considering Gaggia’s fondness for ceramic burr grinders, I’m not surprised to see one on this super automatic espresso machine, It’s not an unwelcome discovery by any means. Ceramic grinders have a reputation for being durable as well as reducing heat transfer during the grinding process. You want to dial in your machine to achieve that perfect shot– The DeLonghi Magnifica offers accurate control over your espresso by letting you adjust shot volume and strength. It also has a built-in burr grinder, and comes with a Pannarello-style steam wand. The best part about this machine is that it has dual boilers, which means you can brew and steam milk without having to wait. You can learn more about the DeLonghi Magnifica in this post. You can set the grinder to a required grind setting between coarse and fine. Gaggia Naviglio, Brera and Anima have 5 settings to choose from. 5 being the coarsest and 1 being the finest. On the Velasca models you have 10 settings. You will find more on the Babila and Accademia. Adjustable Coffee Dosage,Bypass Doser,Cup Volume Control,Energy Saving Design,Low-Water Warning,Pre-Infusion,Programmable Brewing
