About this deal

A high quality 2mm leather ideal for the entry level boots in our range. Montana leather is very supple and very lightweight which gives a soft, comfortable fit ideal for entry level boots. The leather is oiled to boost natural water resistance and to improve the cosmetic finish. Use a proofing agent from new, for best results we recommend SCARPA HS12 cream or a water based wax treatment such as Aqueous Nikwax. CALF LEATHERS - example - Ranger 2 Activ/Delta Activ We advise that for maximum effectiveness the frequency of the cleaning process (points 1 – 6) should be after every trip. While reproofing must always be accompanied by the cleaning process above, it is only necessary when there are signs that water is soaking into the upper material and no longer beading on the surface. Alternatively, what about boots with natural fibre thread that went out in really wet weather and had dubbin applied to keep some water out? This (the dubbin) was a good thing, and better than soggy feet. Now because boots still get wet (even today), the stitching (being made of natural fibres and not as strong as synthetic) gradually suffered and weakened. Being put away damp from time to time didn't help- indeed the stitching might rot a bit. So when it fails, it stands to reason that it was the dubbin wot dun it.

Take care to apply treatments to tongues, D. rings and hooks. Do not over treat them as this can soften the leather and damage stitching.By following a few simple steps and guidelines the longevity of your footwear can be extended helping save any trauma on both your wallet and the environment. Never apply standard boot polish to leather, it will not nourish the leather it will only treat the appearance of the boot At this point, if using HS12 cream leave the Leather boots to dry naturally. If using a water-based proofer, reproof straight away. Water based treatments such as Nikwax should be applied to clean boots whilst the upper materials are still wet We invest a lot of money in our footwear so it makes sense to look after them. In this guide, we detail the best practice for cleaning and reproofing your boots, with advice direct from the Scarpa UK team. Improve your experience with our boots and help prevent sending them into an early retirement.

Have fun getting them muddy again! Cleaning your boots may seem like an arduous task, but this process will protect your boots. It will be worth it on that next adventure.Regularly treat them with a suitable waterproofing treatment applicable to the type of boots you have (See below). We would recommend re-proofing the boots whenever they get particularly dirty or when water stops beading (turning to droplets) on the surface of the boots. Tip: When drying naturally, the boots need to be dry to the touch. Make sure you dry boots in a well-ventilated airy location away from any strong heat sources. Your Scarpa boots are good to go straight from the box however, despite developments in technology, all footwear requires regular aftercare to maintain the highest level of performance and durability.

You may be ready for your next adventure, but are your boots ready? We take you through how to get your boots looking their best in this Scarpa boot care guide. Tip: Some of the key areas that are missed are: Eyelets, Stitching (particularly stitch lines under laces), folds in leather, and the flex point. After each use rinse off mud and dirt with clean water. Remove any stubborn dirt with a sponge, damp cloth or brush. If your boots are particularly dirty you can use a cleaning product such as Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel.

So there we have it, your leather or fabric Scarpa footwear is ready to face nature again, revitalised and strengthened. Now that your work area is prepped and you’ve got everything together, grab your boots and you’re ready to go. Before you start, remove the laces from the boot. This will allow you to get into all areas of the boot including those high flex points which are prone to wear. There are a million and one footwear care articles out there, however, this guide has been compiled by the Scarpa UK team and is specifically designed to service our footwear and most of our upper configurations.
