In D-Cinelike 10-bit mode, the camera supports up to 4K/100fps, 2.7K/120fps, and 1080p/200fps video recording. The customizability options extend to the product’s design, which features a modern and expanded colour range in addition to an iincreased positioning offer. The ideal attachment temperature range is -10° to 40° C (14° to 104° F). Do not attach to curved surfaces, and make sure the attachment surface is clean. It is recommended to press down on the attachment for 10 seconds after applying and leave for 30 minutes before use. Lightweight: With a basic weight from 14.2 kg, the Action 3 NG’s weight can be further decreased to 13 kg with the optional lightweight castor housing and lightweight wheels. DJI's inclusion of a front touchscreen on the Action 3 can't be overlooked. Historically, front displays on action cameras were only used for framing up shots, but this time around, you can control all the camera's features with your digits when vlogging without having to turn it around.

Also illustrated in the above video is horizon leveling, a feature introduced in the Action 2. This keeps footage looking steady, compensating for tilts at up to 45-degree at 4K resolution, and able to handle 360-degree rotation at 2.7K without so much as a tiny sway appearing in your footage. That means footage can remain horizontally level, even through heavy bumps and 360-degree rotations, creating the effect of a perfect horizon without any post-production, even in off-kilter pursuits like surfing.

Like the Action 2, the Osmo Action 3 is based on a 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor and f/2.8 aperture lens with a wide-angle field of view. At 155º, this is actually wider than the FOV offered by GoPro Hero models, which is potentially a big deal if you’re looking to get as much in frame as possible. I enjoyed using the DJI OSMO Action 3. To be 100 per cent honest, I usually prefer shooting action videos using 360° cameras such as the Insta360 X3 because I don't have to shoot footage twice in different orientations, but thanks to the magnetic mounting of the OSMO Action 3, it was less effort to switch from horizontal to vertical shooting than using a GoPro. The DJI OSMO Action 3 is an excellent action camera that offers plenty of features and rugged build quality for less money than its main rival, which, admittedly, makes it more appealing in the eyes of many. Better still, most of the shortcomings are not significant and will only affect a small number of shooting modes/people.

Interestingly, Osmo Action 3 is the first action camera with dual touchscreens, which means you can access settings from any angle while keeping the camera in perfect position. More significant is the time the 1770mAh battery can offer and that is impressive. DJI say it can operate for as long as 160 minutes, and in our testing we got it to past 120 with the front screen on. That comfortably eclipses the Action 2 and the GoPro Hero10. Before use, please close the battery cover and the port cover, and also tighten the Lens Protective Cover. It is recommended to install the waterproof case for long-term underwater shooting or when shooting in environments with high pressure or water impacts.
