About this deal

The Reebok Combat Wraps, which measure 180cm in length, are created to safeguard your hands and wrists during workouts. With 10% elastane, you can wrap them swiftly and uniformly. The hook and loop fastening provides a tight and reliable fit. Cleto Reyes are solid high quality and have always been a popular quality brand for many years. Seyer is another diehard Mexican brand but like most Mexican brands are not often found outside of Mexico. There are also several other Mexican brands that also make boxing shoes, but not all of them. I suspect boxing shoes are more hassle and less profitable compared to boxing gloves. Either way, you can research on Google if you want to explore all the other Mexican brands and see what customizations are possible.

Got myself a pair of Adidas Ring Wizard because of the brand (implying quality) and looks. Even though it was mid to high top, the cuff provided little to no support. Also, I found the sole too tapered, making it easy to roll my ankles, although it was light and thin and gave me good movement. Unlike the big factory brands like Nike/Adidas/Reebok which use a lot of synthetic materials…like rubber, plastic, and mesh…Mexican boxing shoes are usually made out of pure leather. The whole thing is made out of leather, except for the soles (rubber) and laces (cotton/nylon/polyester). Pure leather is far more durable than synthetic materials and may take some time to break-in. Another trait about using pure leather is that it takes a lot of work to make it look “modern” and so many Mexican boxing shoes look old/retro which some fighters like or don’t like. With that said, great craftsmanship can make leather feel like a glove from day one. In case you were looking for the older (yet also popular) Adidas boxing shoes, this model was very popular. Some people even liked these more than the seen-everywhere Nike Machomai boxing shoes. I’m not sure but it seems this model is being updated as well. I listed Box Hog version “2” and “3” above for you. Elevate your boxing performance with the Rival RSX-Guerrero Deluxe Boxing Boots Gold, a striking fusion of design and technical prowess. Crafted for both training and competition, these boots are a testament to innovation. Wearing boxing boots during training is not essential if you are training for fitness and conditioning. However, if you want to perfect your footwork and sparring, boxing boots are an essential part of your boxing kit and will help your boxing footwork skills improve.

The mid tops will usually rest two or three inches above your ankles depending upon the model and usually are the most popular since they offer a bit more mobility than the high tops but more support than the low top. Like the adidas Box Hog 2 these boots by Reebok have been around for a while and are still very popular. Designed to keep you moving with speed and confidence a lot of thought has been put in to their construction. To be honest there aren’t that many Reebok boxing shoes that I would recommend with these been an exception. Rival, I’ve never liked much. I think they’re made well enough, they just didn’t fit well when I first tried a pair. I didn’t like the way it felt on my feet. Too many lumps in the sole that doesn’t curve the way the bottom of my foot did. My brother loves the one he has (comfortable and fit well, still quality) but does feel like they are slightly lower quality than Nike. Nike Machomai is a great boot for amateurs and pros alike. Although they don’t have as much design as the HyperKO style, there’s a reason they’ve been one of the most popular boxing boots for years.

Boxing enthusiasts, like myself, will find this article captivating. I once got so engrossed in watching a boxing match that... by Boxing Shoe Store I’ve never tried any Mexican boxing shoes but do know them to be high quality and always well-respected over the years. The only reason why they aren’t more popular is due to cost, popularity, and accessibility. Due to their strong ties to hip-hop culture and recognizable brand in other sports, Nike/Adidas/Reebok are most likely the first pair of boxing shoes any fighter will wear. In fact, most boxers are probably wearing Nike basketball or running shoes as their first pair of “boxing shoes”. That’s why it’s easy to just go with Nike again when you buy your first pair of real boxing shoes. You already know and trust the brand. I wear the Adidas Ring Wizard myself and honestly can’t imagine fighting in any other shoe. It is a very light shoe, but I like that, and the fit (for me) is perfect- literally the best fitting shoe I have ever worn of any type. They’ve also lasted 2 years and hundreds of rounds of sparring (and 5 fights) so the quality is excellent (the sole is finally starting to peel). I can’t at all relate to the earlier comment about poor quality for Adidas Buying equipment and gear for any sport, especially when you’re new can be challenging and costly. If you’re not serious about boxing or just testing it out for exercise, then you can probably get away with any good pair of athletic shoes. However, should you decide to take the sport more seriously and start sparring, investing in some quality boxing boots is recommended to help improve your footwork.

Another stylish boxing shoe from Rival. Nice ankle support, not so much space around here like the Nike HyperKO’s and also a flatter shoe (less insole cushioning). The shoe overall does feel like a cheaper shoe than the Nike HyperKO’s but still decent enough quality and some people might prefer it over the Nike HyperKO’s. My brother chose this shoe over the Nike HyperKO because they had more ankle support. Obviously the quality of your boxing boots is a major purchasing consideration. If you want a pair that are going to go the distance then you are best off choosing one of the popular brands. When it comes to boxing shoes Nike and Adidas are the heavyweights and tend to be most professional boxers brand of choice. The mid top gives you the best of both the low and hi-top, been in between them both in terms of height means you do get a fair bit of support from them. In addition the fact that they don’t rise so high also means you still feel mobile in them. Also you have to ask yourself, why do most professional boxers wear them? The reason is that they feel most comfortable in a pair of mid tops. You have 3 choices of shoe-heights in boxing – LOW, MID, and HIGH. The low-tops go about as high as the ankles. The mid-height shoes go a few inches higher than that, and the high-tops reach almost to your calves.

You’ll find that boxing boots are designed to feel almost like a second skin. Many boxers report that the best boxing boots can feel as though you aren’t wearing shoes at all, as they fit perfectly to you. This fit means that you can move with greater speed and range in the ring, with the smoothness and grace that you deserve. A smooth texture is designed for better pivoting while others are designed for a better grip. Texture comes down to whether you prefer more mobility to pivot or have a firmer grip behind your movements. I know many of you will like to start out boxing by using other athletic shoes that are made for running, basketball, or other sports. I can tell you right now, it’s not the same. Wearing real boxing shoes makes a big difference in your performance. In fact, it’s probably one of the easiest ways to instantly improve a beginner boxer’s performance—put real boxing shoes on him.Anyway, Otomix figured they could sell their martial arts & weightlifting shoes to the boxing market and it worked. At those price points, I don’t know why anyone would choose them over the more-established boxing brands. They do have many interesting designs in different color combinations. And I’m glad to hear some people like them and others don’t. I did notice that they seem to have many options for women. 6. JUNK brands – Everlast, Ringside, Titleboxing, Lonsdale In addition to the ankle ankle support that a good quality pair of boots offers and the fact that they help to improve footwork and increase power transference, owning a good pair of boxing shoes for training is a necessity for safety reasons. Hi tops rise a few inches higher than mid tops and typically stop just below the calf muscle. The benefits of hi tops are the extra ankle support that they provide and the added feeling of been more secure in your stance. The only downside is that some people feel a little restricted in their movement when wearing a hi top. Purchasing Do & Don’t Do

A popular model for Rivals. Comes in many cool color combinations. Very comfortable and lightweight. I believe it’s actually a wrestling shoe but still used and loved by boxers. Lightweight and well-functioning. Cheap, looks cool, and with different color options available. As the name suggests these are the lowest out of the three style’s of boxing shoe. How low they rest depends on the brand, for example Rival make a low top that rests just above the ankle, where as Grants have one version that rests just a bit lower.Conventional wisdom goes, “the higher the shoe, the more ankle support you get.” So if you want lots of ankle support, get the high-tops. If you want lots of mobility, then get the low-tops so your ankles have more freedom to move. This has a lot to do with how your joints are made. If you’re the kind of guy who sprains his ankles every now and then, you should probably go with the high-tops. It has a lot to do with genetics, fighting style, and personal preference. I have strong ankles and I love low-tops.
