I’m not sure what you’re doing to add stitches though… perhaps you’re creating an extra loop over the needle at some point, then knitting into it as though it were a stitch on the following round? Perhaps if you look really carefully at each of the stitches before you work them (especially at start and end of each ‘section’ of the round?).
