The Campaign section includes three campaigns for the Khainite Shadowstalkers, while the Scions of the Flame get two. There is also a Bloated One, also on a 32mm base, which can be built with either raker-claw and hooked net, or with dual raker-claws. Crypt of Blood has a lot going for it: two highly-desirable and otherwise near-unobtainable Underworlds Warbands (now upcycled for use in Warcry), some smashing new bits of scenery, and a comprehensive guide to the Warcry system.

If you don’t want the terrain, don’t like either warband, and don’t need the extras but still want to play – just get a rule book and wait for the warband you want. The new Warcry Starter Box does a lot of things right: an exciting new setting with brand new warbands and terrain, and carefully revised rules that are not overloaded with unweildy new ideas for the sake of it.
