About this deal

Synopsis: "Hanako-san, Hanako-san...are you there?" At Kamome Academy, rumors abound about the school's Seven Mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san. Said to occupy the third stall of the third floor girls' bathroom in the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when summoned. Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl who dreams of romance, ventures into this haunted bathroom...but the Hanako-san she meets there is nothing like she imagined! Kamome Academy's Hanako-san...is a boy! Speaking of the cut arcs, it's something many manga readers have been harping about. Some choices are necessary occasionally and all you can do is trust Lerche to consider the new story layout, but it removes a lot of the nuance the manga did have in handling its character development and story arcs. Voice acting is fitting, sound is nice and atmospheric. Only one OST used for scene transitions is particularly memorable, but that's about standard for anime. a b Aoki, Deb (June 3, 2020). Yen Press' breakout hit of the season is Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, a supernatural comedy manga.

With all the negative news about the coronavirus going on this year, I figured there’s bound to be at least one or more shows to relax and indulge myself in. When I saw the English version of the title, it reminded me that people have been hoarding toilet paper. But upon finishing this supernatural gem, I found myself eager for more. Sometimes in life there comes a surprise that hits you out of nowhere. Sometimes, there’s a show out there that doesn’t seem what meets the eye. And to say that in a positive light, it’s something we need about now. Hey, do you know about the Seven Mysteries in this school……? Rumours abound at Kamome Academy, about the most famous of the Seven Mysteries. An anime television series adaptation was announced in the April issue of Monthly GFantasy magazine on March 18, 2019. [23] The series is animated by Lerche and directed by Masaomi Andō, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling series composition, and Mayuka Itou designing the characters. [24] Hiroshi Takaki composed the music. [25] It aired from January 10 to March 27, 2020, on TBS, SUN, CBC, and BS-TBS. [a] Jibaku Shōnen Band performed the series' opening theme song "No.7", while Akari Kitō performed the series' ending theme song "Tiny Light." [13] The series has run for 12 episodes. [26] Funimation had licensed the series for a simuldub. [27] [28] Following Sony's acquisition of Crunchyroll, the series was moved to Crunchyroll. [29] I'm glad Lerche did take the time to be as faithful as possible in adapting the unique art style and visuals, though at the cost many have pointed out, animation.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun ( Japanese: 地縛少年花子くん, Hepburn: Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by AidaIro. It has been serialized in Square Enix's magazine Monthly GFantasy since 2014. It has been collected in twenty tankōbon volumes as of August 2023. The story follows Nene Yashiro, a first-year high school student fond of occult stories, who ardently desires a boyfriend. For this, she tries to invoke Hanako-san from the toilet. No. 6 – The Reaper Representative: Hakubo On the night of tsukimi, the Reaper is rumored to steal the lives of those who fall asleep while waiting to view the moon and can be heard playing a melody on the flute by individuals who will die soon. His Boundary, which lies below the school, is the closest one to the Far Shore. His yorishiro is a girl named Sumire, an ancestor of Aoi who he guarded until she was sacrificed. No. 7 – Hanako-san of the Toilet ( トイレのはなこさん, Toire no Hanako-san) Representative: Hanako-Kun The most famous School Mystery. Hanako is referred to as a female, but Hanako is actually a male. He has the power to grant wishes to the living but as compensation, he must take something dear to them in return. Kamome Academy Supernaturals [ edit ] Digital goods, open DVDs and Blu-rays, smart art prints, mystery bundles, and final sale items are excluded from the return policy. Synopsis:At long last, Hanako-kun reveals his plan to save Nene from her inevitable, swiftly approaching death. On November 9, 2019, the voice cast for the main 3 characters were revealed, with comments from each of them. Additional voice casts were revealed on a later date.Nene is the main protagonist of the series as well as a fifteen year old high school student. In the beginning of the book she is so desperate to have a boyfriend that she throws herself at any guy who shows her attention. After she gets cursed she learns that her desire to have a boyfriend was really just her wanting someone to love her. It didn’t matter who it was, she just wanted someone to care about her. Nene continues this habit of being boycrazy throughout the series, which makes me think if she's still trying to fill that void or if she's just a hopeless romantic. I feel like this is a pretty typical thing that many people experience in their teens. They are constantly surrounded by people in relationships and media that implies that happiness comes from being in a romantic relationship. This can lead to them feeling that they have to have a significant other or they are worthless or that no one will ever love them that way. Nene thinks that her “dycon legs” is why she’ll never be in a relationship, which I’m sure many girls can relate to one way or another. That their body will never be good enough to someone to actually love them because they will find it disgusting. I think that Nene is one of the best written characters in terms of relatability. Hanoko is a bathroom ghost who is one of the Seven Wonders of the school. Since he saved Nene from being a fish her whole life, he now hangs around her all the time. To me it seems like this whole book is just Hanoko trying to make up for him killing his brother. All he does is give and give, not only helping the school but Nene as well. The only time I remember him getting upset is when someone hurts Nene or when he sees his brother for the first time in 20 years. Even when Kou tells Nene that he murdered someone, he only puts a seal on Kou’s staff. Even after Kou tries to exercise him, Hanoko hopes Kou will be successful in exercising him one day. When Nene is a few short days from her death he allows one of the seven wonders to trap her in a picture, in hopes that her life span will increase. He is willing to sacrifice his closest friend for her own benefit. Knowing it will leave him all alone again. He isn’t even sure if his plan will work. He doesn't even care if she ends up hating him, he just wants her to be happy and safe in the painting world.
