About this deal

The fiber material is soft to the touch, easy to grip and light, and your device is protected from scratches and everyday bumps. Despite our best efforts we were unable to slow down the Oppo Find X2 Pro, no matter how many games we played or browser tabs we opened up. This shows the Oppo phone has some top-tier processing speeds, and our experience with the phone backs this up: apps were quick to load, top-end games ran with no issues, and we were able to record plenty of 4K video without the phone chugging. This was a minor drawback though, and something we only encountered occasionally, depending on what we were photographing. Auto macro mode could be useful to save you from manually having to switch the mode, but when it’s activated you’re switched from the main camera (which you’ll likely have been using) to the ultra-wide one; this would mean the framing of the close-up subject would be changed, which sometimes meant we had to to re-frame the picture, which could be irritating.

The display uses curved edges, which may or may not be to your liking – we tend to prefer flat edges but the curved option definitely has its own aesthetic appeal. Since most smartphones have glass rears, the Oppo Find X2 Pro feels quite different in its faux leather or ceramic builds, and its sleek design only adds to that novelty. For a phone of this size, the buttons are fairly low down on the side, making them easy to reach no matter how large or small your hands are. Details are crisp and sharp, colours are wonderfully well balanced, shutter speed and focus are both really quick in operation, and as an added bonus there's an expert Pro mode that you can enable to take more control over settings like white balance and ISO speed. Advertising itself as a ‘mirror case’, it has a clear front-facing cover which actually does act like a mirror when you are not using your phone. The display tech can drain the battery rather quickly, and there’s no wireless charging, but these are drawbacks that many users won’t care about, if they notice them at all.

Ultrawide, optical zoom and close-up shots look great, with no distortions or variations in colour as you switch through the various capabilities of the rear camera. If we had to note a downside to the camera, it would be that the autofocus perhaps isn’t as snappy as it is in other smartphone cameras, and it could occasionally be indecisive as to what it was going to focus on. It's genuinely as good as the best smartphones on the market from the likes of Samsung and Apple, in just about every department too.Dave has over 20 years' experience in the tech journalism industry, covering hardware and software across mobile, computing, smart home, home entertainment, wearables, gaming and the web – you can find his writing online, in print, and even in the occasional scientific paper, across major tech titles like T3, TechRadar, Gizmodo and Wired. That's a serious amount of power, and you'll be struggling to find a phone that very noticeably outpaces the Oppo Find X2 Pro for some time to come. Take a look at the specs sheet for the Oppo Find X2 Pro and once again the phone's true flagship credentials stand out. Other perks include an always-on display that’s more vibrant than those on some other devices, snappy gesture navigation, and a useful real-time network speed indicator in the notification bar that lets you see how fast your internet connection really is. Up against some of the best Android phones, it takes a lot to stand out… and this phone certainly does.

Even low light can't trip up the phone – it can capture an impressive amount of detail at night, with an impressively low level of noise, and while the night mode means that you need to keep the phone steady for a second or two, it's worth it for the results. The Oppo Find X2 Pro is a fantastic smartphone – from its design to its software and features, it exudes premium-ness, and it feels a treat to use. While the Oppo brand name might not carry the clout of an Apple or a Google or a Samsung, the Find X2 Pro shows that Oppo can make phones to challenge with the best of them, and while there are occasional annoyances when it comes to the software, you can say that about any smartphone. The handset runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor – pretty much the top CPU for Android phones in 2020 – and pairs it with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of (non-expandable) internal storage. For starters, an all-around impressive camera setup with big sensors and capable lenses, entirely unique to the Find X2 Pro, beats the Find X’s amazing but unique slide-up camera assembly. A transparent case which also comes with a screen protector, it aims to give you the complete package to keep your phone safe and sound.

Those figures are a little heftier than other flagship phones that are on the market at the moment – the standard iPhone 12 handset is 7. Similar to the mirror case listed above, this is a flip case which features a translucent surface at the front. In general use the battery holds up well, and you'll easily get through a day and probably to the next morning on a single charge unless you're really pushing the phone in terms of gaming, screen use, GPS location tracking and so on. The chipset is the Snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm, the top processor available to Android phones at time of release, and which is also found in the OnePlus 8, Xiaomi Mi 10 and certain Samsung Galaxy S20 units (depending on region). Zooming in with the Oppo Find X2 Pro will result in pictures that aren’t as fuzzy or noisy as zoomed shots from competing phones – sure, pictures sometimes can look a bit grainy, especially when you’re using the digital zoom, but this is one of the best cameras we tested for optical and hybrid shots. This is the version we tested out, and it feels truly premium, as it’s easier to grip and more comfortable in the hand than the typical glass most devices are made of. Coming in different colors, this case is capable of providing ideal protection from dust, scratches, oil and dirt, leaves no fingerprints, and ensures effective protection from minor shocks and drops.
