About this deal

If you have previously used the standard two pedal kit that comes with Thrustmaster wheels, these will feel familiar. The brake and throttle pedals both feel almost identical to the two pedal kit. Overall, when compared to the two pedal set, the T3PA pedals do ooze a much more professional quality. We would say that almost any two pedal setup isn’t ideal, but this jump from the two pedals to the three feels rather more significant. You can adjust where you place this rubber mod to give the brake pedal a few different sensations. You can place it towards the base of the pedal if you prefer a long brake pedal. This will give you a slight increase in resistance as you near the end of the brake travel.

If you’ve read this far, you’ve probably come to the conclusion that the Pro model is a dramatically better set of pedals – and you would be correct in making that assertion. However, the Pro model is dramatically more expensive, and the extra cost will be hard to justify for all but the most serious of sim racers – for whom we do wholeheartedly recommend the T3PA Pro. This introduces progressive braking, and can be configured in a range of configurations to adjust the progression rate. The conical brake mod can add up to 70 pounds of extra resistance in to your brake pedal. The T3PA-PRO features 2 impressive compression springs: the resulting pressure force is adjustable according to the range of travel allocated to the springs. But Thrustmaster’s latest pedal set doesn’t stop there: it also includes two removable mods, which can be installed directly underneath the brake pedal. Users can therefore adjust the range of travel, pressure force and type of braking feel to best suit their own preferences. This provides a big advantage in racing, since victory so often depends on the brake pedal’s performance. So Thrustmaster have used this great product design, and fixed the one downside that the T500RS had. The brake pedal. The T3PA Pro has a decidedly industrial design that is largely attributable to the fact that it is designed to be used in F1 or GT (inverted) positions – and us such must be somewhat more modular in aesthetic. Form is perhaps a secondary consideration with the pro model, and users will appreciate that no expense has been spared in pursuit of extreme functionality and versatility. This allows you to run a closer brake and throttle pedal for heel and toe downshifting, if that’s your style. The most important consideration when using any pedals – in games or in real life – is functionality, and both of these sets are built to function well for a long time. The improved design of the Pro model can’t be denied, but the standard set is nothing to scoff at in this regard. The pedals themselves offer a huge amount of customization. This is possibly our favorite part of the pedals. You can adjust the spacing between each pedal by mounting the pedal plate in one of three locations. Both of these sets feature considerable options for adjusting the height, angle and pitch of the pedals – and both include mod options for the brake pedal (one with the T3PA, two with the Pro) for tweaking the feel and required braking force. Further mods are available both from Thrustmaster as well as third-party manufacturers.

For over thirty years, Thrustmaster has been developing high-tech video game accessories designed to satisfy and entertain all types of gamers. Although the regular T3PA offer great value for money, we think the T3PA Pro are a far better choice for most sim racers. They are built entirely out of metal and are far more customizable with both F1 and GT pedal setups. T3PA vs T3PA Pro: Technical Specs They allow for floor mounted or inverted pedal mounting positions. This in turn, allows you to set up your pedals to mimic a range of driving setups. You can floor mount them for formula style driving. Or invert them for GT and road cars. The Thrustmaster T3PA PRO pedals are a popular choice with many in the sim racing community. In this video, we have a great description of how to calibrate and apply to get the full potential from these great pedals. We would highly recommend paying the extra cost to add these T3PA pedals to your Thrustmaster racing wheel bundle. We’ve spent a lot of time testing the T3PA pedals to be able to bring you our in depth review, and show you why you should upgrade to this pedal set.The Thrustmaster T3PA-PRO 3-Pedal Add-On Pedal Set is a realistic, high-end pedal set that will take your driving experience to a whole new level! Drawing on its know-how and technological expertise, Thrustmaster develops products—flight simulation peripherals, headsets, and controllers—designed to offer extremely accurate gameplay, providing a completely immersive experience with optimal realism across numerous platforms. This rubber mod fits directly behind the brake pedal to offer a much more realistic, progressive resistance. This come in to play the harder you push the pedal, giving you more resistance the closer you get to 100% pressure. In theory, these T3PA-Pro pedals are the perfect almagamtion of the best braking technology and product design. We’ve been testing these pedals for a while now with our T500 RS. And we’ve written this review to help you decide whether it is worth you buying these T3PA-Pro pedals Not only do these pedals include that illusive clutch pedal. But the brake mod is possibly the most impactful part of these pedals. By installing the brake mod, you completely transform how these pedals feel, and really increase the overall immersion.

Both pedal sets allow you to adjust the spacing between pedals. And they do this by allowing you to remove the pedal pad and mount it in three different positions. This is nice, although we would rather have been able to move each whole pedal individually like the Fanatec CSL Elite pedals. We would definitely recommend installing this rubber cone, as it dramatically increases the performance and feeling of the brake. Over time you will be able to brake more consistently and realistically, than you could without it. New York City, March 18, 2015 — Thrustmaster is continuing to add to its racing product ecosystem with the launch of the stand-alone version of its high-end 100% metal, 3-pedal pedal set: the T3PA-PRO.The T3PA pedals include a factory supplied "conical brake mod" which is intended to feel just like a load cell. Don't be fooled! This device makes the pedal feel increasingly firmer the further it is pressed, making harder to move. However, the pedal is still using a potentiometer and is still reading movement rather than force. So while the game is determining braking by how far the pedal has moved, the "conical brake mod" is preventing the pedal from moving creating a dis-proportioned amount of in-game braking relative to the force being applied to the pedal. A load cell corrects this. The load cell replaces the potentiometer and turns the pedal into a purely force-based reading. Therefore, any additional force on the pedal directly translates into a proportional amount of braking applied in the game. This leads to better control over the brakes for better trail braking resulting in better lap times. We tested this in all four configurations, and preferred the longer brake travel, with a medium increase to resistance. For us, this felt the most natural, as the short brake travel just felt too unrealistic. When the brake pedal is under mid to full braking load the pedal remains at a steady height to make heel-toe downshifting possible without upsetting the balance of the car. Unlike the original and aftermarket bushings and bumpers, the load cell provides a linear response from your braking effort; 50% more force = 50% more braking.
