Combimate is a widely recognised, provenhard water scale inhibitorthat since its launch in 1987 has delivered protection to hundreds of thousands of homes. Fitting is simple – the only plumbing required is to route and connect two pipes, plus fixing the unit to the wall. This job can take less than one hour.

Your Combimate can be installed to offer two levels of protection – the whole hot water system or a single appliance. Water Softeners – A water softener is a larger electrical /mechanical device which removes the chemicals in hard water areas which cause scaling: calcium and magnesium carbonate. These devices turn hard water to soft water.

Function: This product is designed to refill the Cistermiser Combiphos water treatment system. It is a phosphate-based compound that helps to prevent the buildup of limescale and corrosion in hot water systems This action prevents the formation of scale while retaining the health benefits of the natural minerals contained in hard water. Scale Prevention – These prevent these chemicals depositing themselves inside pipes, tanks and shower heads. These are small plumbed-in devices that use chemical, electrolytic or magnetic methods to accomplish this. Combimate which is a hard water scale inhibitor is in this group.

Simple To Install And Maintain

Yes. If the Combimate is located in a warm environment (e.g an airing cupboard) or near a heat source, the Combiphos crystals will dissolve at a faster rate. Ideally Combimate should be installed at room temperature with a cold water supply, located at least 450mm from any appliance or local heat source to prevent water in the dome from warming and accelerating the dissolution of the Combiphos. Combimate is a user-friendly domestic limescale prevention device that uses Combiphos to deliver guaranteed prevention of limescale and soft water corrosion water control, with no moving parts. Health and safety– Combiphos is tasteless and odourless and contains a polyphosphate compound which is classified by the WHO as a ‘food-grade’ additive. The quantity, size and hardness of the spheres control the amount of Combiphos released. Typically this is less than 3 ppm (parts per million) of phosphate in treated water and perfectly safe for human consumption.

Combimate is not a water softener but a phosphate dosing device. Combimate does not alter the hardness (or softness) of the home’s water supply but through the process of adding phosphate prevents limescale build up and provides softwater corrosion protection Combimate does not use magnets or any electricity in its anti limescaleoperation and is both easy to install with minimal maintenance. In a central heating system, Combimate will only protect the boiler via the mains water feed into the heat exchanger. However, the ‘closed loop’ of the heating system (radiators, pipework etc) is not protected. Combiphos coats the inside of the pipework, boiler heat exchanger and appliances with a non-residual, microscopic, protective coating to prevent scale-causing minerals from accumulating and aggressive soft water from corroding the system and appliances.

Installation of the Combimate has been carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Note: Combiphos does not soften water and its effectiveness may be reduced in water heated to temperatures above 60 degrees, in water with carbonate hardness levels above 360 ppm or at pH levels below 6.5. Combiphos also coats the inside of the pipework, boiler heat exchanger and appliances with a non-residual, microscopic, protective coating. This again prevents scale-causing minerals from accumulating and aggressive soft water from corroding the system and appliances.
