When staying in a premium Gruffalo room it would be good to have the option to have breakfast at your leisure rather than having to book, but this is only a small criticism. Arriving at the hotel we parked at our exclusive dedicated Gruffalo parking spot, which is reserved for Gruffalo room guests, close to the Hotel and Theme Park entrance. The Gruffalo is one of the world’s best-loved monsters. Since it was first published in 1999, the award-winning story of his encounter with the little brown mouse in the deep dark wood has continued to delight children and adults the world over. As we opened the door of our hotel room the look on the girls faces was priceless as the rooms have Gruffalo themed audio. Phrases such as “you go ahead and I’ll follow after” activate when you open and close the hotel room door (this can be turned off if you wish). The woods are a dangerous place for a little mouse and it isn’t long before an owl has marked the mouse out for his tea. The mouse makes full use of his new invention and describes the terrifying Gruffalo to the owl. This time the creature has knobbly knees, turned-out toes and a poisonous wart on the end of his nose. The owl doesn’t want to hang around and meet this menacing Gruffalo and once again the mouse is left alone to continue on his way. Bring the wonderful world of The Gruffalo to life with this beautiful 30cm tall talking soft toy. With 12 sounds and phrases it is the perfect Gruffalo toy for kids who love the book and films. A giant 3D Gruffalo head was peering through the foliage into the room. “WOW” the girls exclaimed when they when they first caught glimpse of the Gruffalo but it’s what makes these rooms so special.

Even big brothers or sisters, Mummies and Daddies can be frightened sometimes and sharing that fear or talking about it with someone can help - perhaps if the Gruffalo had a friend to walk with then they could have discussed the fear of the mouse and the end of the story might have been very different.
