About this deal

This will be enjoyed by fans of David Walliams’s children’s books, while Frank Cottrell Boyce’s The Astounding Broccoli Boyis another wacky adventure, and there are kids up against eccentric and unscrupulous criminals in William Sutcliffe’s Circus of Thieves series. I love Jelly (great name for someone who often feels a bit wobbly), and how she adjusts the way she views things to allow herself to appreciate the moment. But throughout the book, eventually, you can try and start solving the mystery with the characters too! Alleine das es hier eine Schoko Zentrum Namens Mampfton gibt oder das die Leute so in die Schokoladenherstellung mit einbezogen werden gefällt mir. I am a huge Roald Dahl fan and this book reminded me so much of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I absolutely loved it.

The book also has illustrations (a lot of them chocolate which just made me even hungrier) and I quite like the style of them. I liked figuring out/finding out how the chocopocalypse starting/began/what is going on with the chocolate. With only six days left until no more chocolate, Jelly has a sneaking suspicion that something isn’t right. Chris’ first job was on a Pick 'n' Mix counter, followed by a career in the Royal Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. The Great Chocoplot is the story of young Jelly and her family who live in the chocolate factory town of Chompton-on-de-Lyte. This is a comprehension linked to Chapter 1 of ‘The Great Chocoplot’ and is aimed at lower Key Stage 2.

Jelly was my favourite character she was brave, resilient and never gave up until chocolate continues to be produced. I loved their chemistry; I loved how they worked together all that time and I absolutely adored Jelly’s jokes about her grandmothers knickers. With an excellent cast of characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and witty and sharp observations, this is a great choice for fans of Dahl and Walliams. because at its heart The Great Chocoplot is an adventure and mystery story full of charm and heart with the theme of family being central at all times. Das weiß auch Jelly, aber was sie mehr beunruhigt als die Nachbarin ist, das in den Nachrichten eine drohende Schokopokalypse angekündigt wurde und das hieße die Schokolade würde komplett verschwinden.I decided to read this book as it was recommended to me by Suzanne Maguire (author of the Spellbound Chronicles) . My favourite character was Granny in her Granavan because she’s very funny, empathetic and relatable. How to explain it, you see the same happening in other books with silly plots (like Roald Dahl's books), the parents are generally either terrible, bad, or just don't seem to understand parenting. Even though fully trained on how jet fighters work and fly, he still suspects that there is a little magic involved somewhere. A terrifying premise indeed, the idea of chocolate disappearing forever, wrapped brilliantly in an accurate façade of society, but also with lots of funny moments for young bookworms.
