About this deal

This original press sounds a bit more intimate but almost has a polished studio recording sound to it which lessens the livliness. I always admired Kurt covering the meat Puppets and loved the idea of the band receiving humungous royalties. Unsealed, as well as wholly different matrix/runouts and the more magenta shade to the vinyl, the labels have the globe Geffen logo instead of the DGC logo which is on the 2019 BG/Pallas pressing. This double LP version blows the single disc out of the water in terms of sonics, and is definitely the one to own. The bonus rehearsal material is a nice time capsule extra to boot (Pennyroyal Tea is especially interesting as it is in a different, higher key, the performance version is much better).

Not that I was a particularly big Nirvana fan but I had just moved house and I was living alone for the first time and it sort of fitted with the mood of the age. They aren't so expensive as those money making series like 'Respect the Classics' and 'Get on Down'.EDIT (from over a year later): Okay, so I've always wondered what people had against a lot of the Back to Black reissues, because I've generally had wonderful experiences with them. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases.

BMI, "The Man Who Sold The World" Published by Tintoretto Music/Screen Gems-EMI/Chrysalis Songs BMI, "Oh Me", "Plateau" and "Lake Of Fire" Published by Meat Puppets Music BMI and "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" Published by Folkways Music Publishers, Inc. I suspect that anyone who has a good review on the 2008 repress page probably has the 2016 repress instead (an easy mistake to make, seeing as both have the same catalog numbers). I haven't had any bad experiences with them, and whenever I see a review of someone who has the exact same copy, they have always been good (unless they received a mispress). In addition, Cobain was unconvinced that Grohl would be able to play in a restrained fashion (Grohl was given brushes for the first time, and adapted to them immediately). Both versions sound great in their own right but I like the ORG a little more for the vast spaciousness it adds to the music which opens everything up and really propels the songs into larger-than-life territory. The story of how this legendary performance by this legendary band has been the subject of numerous articles and documentaries. The picture at the front is probably as blurry as it was because it was taken in 1993--an aspect that is only to do with the camera it was taken on. But, the thing that I've found with my Back to Black reissues is that the sticker on the cover is always black.
