About this deal

As we’ve seen in the past, HDR is where the color accuracy falls apart. It’s way off out of the box, but that doesn’t mean the monitor looks bad. This is clearly a monitor built for consumption, not creation. You can do a bit of color work in SDR, but I wouldn’t do anything serious. It’s built for watching movies and playing games, and it does an exceptional job at both. The monitor uses LG’s W-OLED panel, which in addition to the regular red, green and blue subpixels also has a white subpixel for increased brightness. This pixel layout will, however, cause some minor fringing on fine details and small text, but most users won’t be bothered by it. Tilt: -20º to 20º (Auto/Manual) Height: 160mm (Auto/Manual) Swivel: ±270º (Manual) Pivot: Not Available Extend/Retract: 300mm The screen also has a light matte anti-glare coating that prevents reflections without making the image too grainy.

LG UltraGear OLED 45 (45GR95QE-B) review: let’s get immersed

Overall, the LG 45GR95QE offers an amazing gaming experience thanks to its VRR support, high 240Hz refresh rate and instantaneous pixel response time speed, while the large 45″ ultrawide screen with decent brightness, infinite contrast ratio and gorgeous colors provides a stunning HDR image quality.Screen Saver – screen turns off automatically when no movement is detected after a certain period of time With an 800R curvature, tighter than your typical curved ultrawide monitor, sitting in front of the LG UltraGear 45GR95QE is a fully immersive experience. It's designed first and foremost for gaming, and we found ourselves hugely impressed with it in this regard – games fly by, looking rich and vibrant, and with barely a smear or stutter. AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync support definitely helps here.

Leaked Roadmap Suggests MSI are Developing 6 New QD-OLED Monitors – including 360Hz OLED! October 1, 2023 There are also two exciting HDR monitors announced for 2023, the new Neo G9 with a 57″ 7680×2160 240Hz VA panel and the Odyssey OLED G9 with a 49″ 5120×1440 240Hz QD-OLED panel. Conclusion This isn’t the Samsung Ark, where you can rotate the display fully vertical. Instead, you’re given a restrictive range of 20 degrees of swivel and tilt for minor adjustments, though thankfully, there’s a generous 4.3 inches of height adjustment. Jacob Roach / Digital Trends Asus Announced ROG Swift PG32UCDM with 31.5″ QD-OLED Panel, 4K and 240Hz Refresh Rate August 22, 2023Next, the screen has a steep 800R curvature for added immersion, though some users might find it too aggressive for uses other than gaming and content consumption. No one could argue that the LG UltraGear 45GR95QE isn't a top-notch gaming monitor. The high refresh rate (assuming your gaming setup can do it justice), the contrast and HDR performance of this OLED panel, the low response time and input lag, and variety of input options all combine to make this one of your best options for a gaming monitor right now. We tested the monitor with titles including Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, which are able to make full use of the width of this monitor – and there's no debate that they look superb. The only department where the monitor falls down slightly is its maximum brightness, as is often the case for OLED: it barely detracts from the visuals at all, especially with HDR (high dynamic range) content, but you will find brighter screens out there.

The pixels transition rapidly regardless of the refresh rate, so there’s no need for different overdrive settings. It’s hard to overstate just how big the UltraGear OLED 45 really is. It’s a 44.5-inch monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, but its footprint is multiplied due to the steep 800R curve. Even compared to a display like the Asus ROG PG42UQ, the UltraGear OLED 45 feels massive.Even with those problems, the UltraGear OLED 45 shoots past displays like the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 in games, providing an immersive gaming experience that other displays can’t keep up with.
