About this deal

So, if you are okay with these facts, then you should go for this headphone as the sound quality itself is a lot for the headphone. Final Words

More than a decade after debuting, the HD 650 have gotten a refresh (sort of), and you might even say they’re better than ever. This second coming of the HD 650 was actualized in the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX, the result of a collaboration between the storied audio brand and the “audiophile” subset of Massdrop’s commerce community that have proven extremely popular — so popular, in fact, that the company is still selling them years later. Initial impressions, measurements, and non-audio opinions of FiiO’s newest update to their popular FH5 IEM: the FH5s. The long awaited update where 46 new headphones get ranked, along with a big overhaul of existing entries.

I bought these used. Then washed the pads. I did listen to them a but before washing the pads, and after drying the pads it sounded the same to me. Used pads may mean that I had much less treble than new pads would. Comparisons. I’ve compared the HD6XX to headphones I think are fit for a comparison based on style of tuning and price segment competition, regardless of driver type or style of headphone. The KSC75’s bass is surprisingly punchy and comes with enough impact to make me not completely dismiss for personal use, though obviously I wish for more low-end extension. The upper-midrange is forward and some might say intense, but nothing that I would constitute as a hard dealbreaker (especially considering the price, which I will get to later). Mids – Midrange is what HD6XX does really well, in fact exceptionally well considering its asking price. Lower midrange is very clean, neutral and linear while the upper-midrange has a very natural reference-ish forward presentation with good ear gain and peak presence at 3kHz. It has very accurate tonality and timbre of instruments which makes HD6XX sound very natural and realistic. It is fairly resolving and well-layered, especially for its price. It’s easy to regard the HD 6XX’s sound signature as just another dynamic-driven headphone, bringing with it traits that often have audiophiles drawing lines in the sand between those who love a drop of pleasing warmth in their sonic coffee, and those who demand near-clinical dedication to the recording as it was originally rendered. However, what is so pleasing about the HD 6XX (and the 650 before them) is that these headphones offer a pleasant mixture of each, for a best-of-both-worlds scenario. Bill Roberson/Digital Trends

But, there was always one little… thing that seems to be overlooked in the conversation of evergreen headphones, more likely than not due to its extremely low price point. The venerable KSC75, its predecessor being the far less popular KSC35 which was introduced by Koss in 1995. The KSC75 debuted in 2005 as the KSC35’s cheaper alternative and has since remained as a cornerstone of every audiophile’s “newbie recommendation list”.

Got these two days ago, and until then I used 598SE corrected by Sonarworks. For the 560S I don’t really need correction, except on the monitoring bus of my DAW when mixing. Upon first use on my head, the clamping pressure is too much for me to handle. It was the same with the HD650, my HD600, my HD580 and even my older favorite the HD485. Time is your friend, let it breathe and stretch on some books or a headphone stand that is wide. They feel "cheap", as in lightweight and plasticy. But, I actually don't mind this at all, so don't think of it as an insult. I just wanted to mention that because I feel someone will equate that with not “feeling premium”. With a very decent depth, the stereo imaging is very amazing too. So, in conclusion, audio-wise, the HD650 is a particularly attractive headphone that can provide any audiophile with a great audio experience.

I guess i find myself unfairly putting the HD6XX down because it doesnt appear to me like a 'proper' factory Sennheiser headphone despite the general consensus on this forum being that theyre essentially interchangeable. Any insight from members who own one or both of the models would be appreciated. I dont own either (instead owning the Grado SR325i amped with a Fiio A5) but i have always wanted a HD650 and want to know whether i should consider the HD6XX as a solid contender but will get the HD650 if it offers more. Short introduction Alpha & Delta is a Singaporean IEM brand under the Lend Me Ur Ears umbrella, best known for their Disclaimer: The Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee was sent to us a sample in exchange for our honest opinion and does not have to be returned. We thank Massdrop for this opportunity. In this headphone, the little unevenness there is in high-frequency sounds causes mostly by similar sounds and cymbals, with which one will get used to soon. The transients are well defined and crisp, and their decay into ambiance happens naturally. The HD6XX can easily provide a pleasing audio experience as it offers a nice mixture of an amazing and warm sonic quality and near clinical dedication to the originally rendered recording. And all these have made this signature dynamic-driven headphone the best of both the mentioned worlds. The headphone weighs 260 grams which is not much to bear, so it is comfortable to wear on your head. Like the HD6XX, it also has a massive frequency response, which is from 12 Hz to 40.5 kHz, which makes it really versatile. The distortion percentage of headphones is less than 0.05%, which is really impressive.
