Unlike conventional TVs that tend to blur movement, Hisense TV with Smooth Motion identifies the smallest details related to fast-moving objects and reconstructs the pixels to restore clean, clear motion. Not sure what quality the app streams video, if its just 1080p you aren't going to be missing out on much using an older TV compared to a 4k one. If its 4k, well then you see more of an improvement. As a big-screen fitting for sports and movies, it also starts at a slightly cheaper asking price than the U7QF model it replaces. But does the more affordable price suggest the A7G is a downgrade on what came before? Design
The Hisense A4G is a HD model, which we don’t see advertised as much in the age of 4K. The 32-inch screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768, while the 40-inch has a 1080p Full HD display. You'll get colourful, sharp picture quality even though the HDR brightness could be better. And the design of the set will look smart in your living room. It's a shame that the sound isn't quite up to par, but that’s easily solved by hooking up a separate soundbar. I bought the Hisense to test - must admit I'm not very impressed on initial play - image is fuzzy around any movement. It's making me miss my ancient 58 plasma (it was too big and had to go ) Colours looked accurate and natural, whether you’re watching nature documentaries or dramas. Although admittedly, the HDR brightness isn’t as bright as you’d get elsewhere so the contrast could be better. You'll only really see the impact of this when you're watching particularly dark movies or using it on a sunny day. When it comes to picture modes, there are a few to choose from. Those being HDR Day, HDR Night, HDR Dynamic, HDR Sports or Auto. Choosing HDR Day does make it more visible in the sun but it also makes colours look a little over the top, while HDR Night dulls them out a little too much. The set is actually anything but a video nasty, producing pictures that in some ways humble those of some much more expensive models. Add to this some decent shadow detail retention in the darkest image corners and you’ve got dark scenes that don’t instantly and distractingly look like some poor relation to bright scenes. This level of consistency is enough in itself to embarrass an uncomfortable number of more expensive TVs.

We’re not saying the 43A6GTUK’s HDR impact is any sort of rival for what a premium LCD or OLED TV might do. It’s certainly unexpectedly potent for its price point, though.
In 2021 Hisense launched its first Mini-LED display in the U9GQ. That has now been followed up with the 2022 flagship U8HQ model. With 20W of audio power from the speakers, the sound from the Hisense A7G is really loud, I only kept it on about 25% volume for the majority of the time I spent with it. Hisense is also adopting some more advanced gaming features with the inclusion of ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). Lag with this model is claimed to be less than 20ms.If you’re willing to spend a bit more for an even better piece of kit, the Samsung AU9000 review (50AU9000) was rated five stars in its T3 review. While it may not have Dolby Vision, it does have great picture performance from most sources. The 43A6GTUK delivers native 4K sources with a very respectable level of sharpness and detail, too - enough to appreciate what 4K can bring even to a relatively small 4K screen, especially when it comes to giving images a more three-dimensional look.
