About this deal

Kate: Compared to other products I have used, this carrier is a bit bulkier and heavy. This would be expected in this carrier as it has lots of additional features compared to other carriers I have used. Perhaps the addition of a bag to put the carrier in might help make it feel smaller and more compact as I feel it currently takes up a lot of room when placed in the bottom of the pushchair for days out.

Some carriers look great, feel great, and are super comfortable and reliable, but are a total pain in the butt to put on, take off, or adjust. Carriers have come a long way in terms of convenience and ease of use, but some are still quite poor in this regard. Our best baby carriers list carefully considers the ease of donning, doffing, and adjusting the carrier. Baby Carrier Comfort & Breathability More than that though, I also love the way that it looks. To me, I feel as though I’m strapping myself into a futuristic space suit. Though I can see some one else feeling that it’s more streamlined chic to go with a more modern look. Personally, I love it. They didn’t sacrifice any comfort or durability to maintain a very cool aesthetic. Each year, there are dozens of new entrants into the baby carrier market, making it challenging to make an informed decision about which ones are best for you and your baby. The Ergo fit low on me despite many adjustments and just felt odd, additionally it only goes up to 33lbs which I worried would leave me with a short usage period. It did have a easy conversion to forward facing out, but to me it seemed like the fabric was pinching the baby's legs a bit Keri: The design of the sling is brilliant. It has features that I look for in a sling so I would definitely buy this product. I like the style too as it looks comfy and fashionable. The price of the sling is really good, it matches other slings out there on the market. It seems to have a few more features than other slings out there which is what mums are looking for when purchasing.Fiona: As a mum to a 12 week old and a 2-year-old, I valued having my hands free to allow me to tend to the toddler. It has also been invaluable when out and about. We live in a rural area, and some of our paths are not pram friendly. Our baby always felt safe and secure. We have also used it on a few occasions to get our baby to sleep, and she seems to love it and appears comfortable. Baby carriers also hold some advantages for development and well-being. For example, research shows that baby carriers can help new parents bond with their baby, calm a fussy baby, and learn about their needs and behavior ( 1, 2). According to the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI), a properly worn baby carrier that supports your baby's hip in the M-position can also encourage healthy hip development, a proposal supported by pediatric and orthopedic research. They also offer superior convenience during travel and have several documented advantages for child development. But which ones are the best!?

The Stokke was very complicated, I took it home in hopes that having enough adjustable straps would ensure that I could make it fit, I just needed to figure it out right? Nope, no matter how I adjusted it, the shoulder straps put awkward strain on both my husband and I, the straps should have sat flat but once the baby was in it pulled away. The carrier was incredibly time consuming to get on--but you can do a lot of adjustments before you put the baby on you. The carabiners that hook on were cumbersome, annoying and truly just for show, a simpler snap/hook could have done the same thing and not been in the way (plus I imagine that hunk of metal near the baby's hands/head could get hot in the sun!). I wanted so much to like their carrier, but after a few weeks I had to return it. Nathasha: I feel a lot more confident carrying my baby on my own and just using it ad hoc around the house, even when doing the gardening. I felt the breathability aspect was particularly useful as I felt my baby was actually cooler in the summer heat when I was trying out the carrier. My baby really seemed to enjoy facing outwards in this carrier and would sit in it even on the tube for long periods of time which he never would have done in our other carrier. Would you choose this product to win? We have been reviewing baby carriers for over 10 years and appreciate the challenges faced by parents trying to find the perfect carrier. If we made our own baby carrier, here is what it would look like:I wanted to buy this 8 for my first, but got the Gemini instead because it was in my budget. I loved and still love that Gemini. But when I saw this price for the BECO 8 I decided to spoil my second with a new carrier. Below I'll talk about the differences in case anyone else is choosing between them. So, my first impression was that this carrier is pretty similar to a Gemini. The seat base is a bit wider, and the panel is a little taller, but the fit is similar. My baby jusssst fit without the infant insert, but we may use it for a few more weeks to be on the safe side.

I love my BECO carriers! This 8 is by far the most comfortable carrier I've used. If you are choosing between this and the ergobaby, I'd go with this hands down. The cross straps make a huge difference for me. Has that contoured, close to baby hugging feel of a wrap carrier but with the ergonomic support and ease of a structured carrier. Note that we do not include any ring sling-style carriers on our list, given the safety concerns with these carriers. Specifically, while ring slings can be very comfortable and safe when used correctly (and with the appropriate baby ages and sizes), there have been some cases of misuse and negligence. That doesn't mean that you can't use a ring sling, just that you need to be more careful. Here's a good article from Mayo Clinic summarizing that point. Baby Carrier Ease of Use To find you the best baby carrier of the year, we tested out 11 new models and 4 updated models. We carried infants from 4 weeks to 11 months old, and toddlers from 12 to 30 months. Our testers included petite, average-size, and plus-size parents, to ensure appropriate adjustability for all shapes and sizes. Keri: The Beco sling is brilliant, it makes life far easier for me as a mum because short trips to the shops can be done carrying my little one, instead of the hassle of using a pushchair. It means that you can get out and about and into smaller spaces with your baby. Also, it’s so comforting for your baby to be so close to you!

The soft-structured baby carrier provides you with all the intimacy and versatility of a baby wrap, with added convenience and ease of use. A baby carrier is faster to put on and take off ("don and doff") than a baby wrap, will provide more substantial support for a growing infant and toddler, and is generally more comfortable for longer journeys. Full disclosure: Some of these carriers, including the Contours, Beco, Ergobaby, and Moby models, were sent to us as free test samples by the manufacturer. I love the zip down panel feature. I took baby girl for a walk today and it was in the 70s and very sunny, and she didn’t sweat at all. The carrier felt like it would be pretty warm with the panel zipped up, which will be nice for when we visit family in Michigan. The hood worked pretty well to keep the sun off her head. Count on Comfort: A zippable, ventilated 3D mesh panel makes this an excellent baby chest carrier for all seasons! Made from durable polycotton, the infant carrier for newborns and toddlers is super supportive yet soft on baby's skin.
