About this deal

It’s soft but stiff, providing the perfect flat surface to press on. It eliminates moisture and directs heat where it needs to go: evenly dispersed across your project. And it also protects your work surface from the heat. Design sizes for application with Cricut EasyPress Mini range from the smallest area you can reach with the precision tip up to a surface area that is about 2X the heat plate. Recommended settings are optimized with the maximum sizes in mind: Before getting an EasyPress 2, I did a bunch of research, so by the time I received mine, I had a bunch of helpful tips already written down. You don’t have to use an EasyPress Mat with the EasyPress, but it was designed for it and makes things really seamless. You want to avoid ironing boards, corrugated cardboard, and silicone baking mats/aluminum boil, which gets very very hot. Working around seams and zippers For the customizing crafter who wants to build their heat-transfer foundation and then some. Get Cricut EasyPress 2 plus the Essentials Iron-On Bundle, including two must-have tool sets and 10 iron-on materials so you can bring the heat right out of the box.

Once you think about it, it makes sense because you don't want any wrinkles or moisture before pressing, and preheating takes care of that for you. According to Cricut, there are three main factors that contribute to getting professional heat transfer results at home. Your household iron can meet some of these, but not all. On a different note,I do have to say that I am OBSESSED with mine, and I want to press all the things! So if you plan to make small projects, your best bet would be to go with either the 6×7 inches or the 9×9 inches. Use the Cricut Heat Guide or Cricut Heat app (for Cricut EasyPress 3) to determine project settings. But, before I jump into more details I want to share all the points I will cover in this post, most of them are the questions I had in my head before owning an EasyPress, so hopefully, this will help you determine if you need one as well. It has 2 main components, the base, and the actual machine, and as you can see below, it's pretty simple, and beautiful! The Cricut EasyPress Mat is a must have, in my opinion. Have you ever tried to do iron-on projects on a towel and ended up with a ton of moisture? Or on an ironing board and ended up with some wonky rippling in your design? The EasyPress Mat prevents all of this, all while being use to use and store.

Speaking from personal experience, I think the EasyPress 2 does a much better job on metallics, foils, and other special items that aren’t plain ol’ vinyl. The temperature can be more difficult to control with an iron, and using the EasyPress can help you get the exact right temperature and time needed to ensure results that last. The only iron-on project I’ve ever had fail was actually 3. Flat, stable surface. You don’t have to apply pressure—just let it sit there doing its thing. After the EasyPress timer beeps, burnish the design. I like to do this for most of my heat transfer projects, honestly. I take a balled-up paper towel and rub all over the design to help the iron-on film adhere as it cools. You can see me doing this in the video I have in this post. The Complete Guide to Using the EasyPress 2 with Cricut Everyday Iron-on It has the power to apply iron-on within 60 seconds or less. It is fast, efficient, and offers top quality when applying an iron-on vinyl or HTV ( Heat transfer Vinyl, as other brands call it) and sublimation (with Cricut Infusible ink projects) Set your timer and apply pressure: Once you have everything lined up and ready, set your timer and apply down pressure by holding the handle on the EasyPress. Make sure to turn your project inside out to give another press and make sure your project is as good as possible.

Also, if you are going to press fabrics, consider pre-washing them as well, this way you take the initial shrinkage out of the way. Size: The original Easy Press comes in one size, 9×9. The EasyPress 2 comes in three different sizes – 6×7, 9×9, and 12×10. Use the EasyPress heat setting guide. The guys at Cricut did a wonderful job of setting up an interactive guide that covers most materials. This guide will guide you in the exact setting you should use your press Layering materials is an easy way to add dimension to your heat transfer projects. (See my tutorial for how to layer iron-on vinyl for more!) In fact, there are many Cricut designs out there that are designed specifically with layering in mind. They have multiple layers that are placed on top or one another to create the final image. A flat surface works best. And I don’t mean an ironing board. Cricut suggests using their EasyPress on a flat surface like a table with a Cricut EasyPress Mat. The mat provides the extra benefits of protecting the surface underneath from heat. What are the differences between the Cricut EasyPress and the EasyPress 2?

Note: Ensure your design is within the maximum recommended design sizes for using Cricut EasyPress Mini with iron-on (4" W x 3.5" L or 1.7" W x 5.25" L). Before using Cricut EasyPress Mini ensure that fabrics and other base materials are completely dry. I am going to start by saying that I thought peeling-off vinyl after a couple of washes was normal until I read some forums about issues with iron-on. Lay your project down: To get the best result, you should always work on a flat solid surface. Measure to make sure your design is centered and right where you want it to be. Your sandwich should look like this, from top to bottom:Enjoy your finished project! And remember to not wash your item for the first 24 hrs, to use only gentle detergents and do not use bleach =] Avoid seams, buttons, and zippers when positioning Cricut EasyPress on base material. If the heat plate crosses over these things the design will not receive even heat, resulting in unwanted effects. When applying designs to u nusual objects, around seams, or in hard-to-reach places, use Cricut EasyPress Mini.
